You want authentic Italian in AZ you go to Defalco's! When you walk in you get hit with the authentic Italian smells of Italy. Their dishes are a mix of the old school and new school Italian and you can tell their recipes have been handed down for generations. Their staff is super friendly and treat you like family. Defalco' was also on the Food Network's DDD, so you know they are throwing out some amazing food! The food is Phenomenal. You really cannot go wrong with anything on their menu especially if it has their in house made sausage. Here is what I recommend when you go to Defalco's: Meatball Hot Sandwich: Comes with House made Meatball, with melted cheese on a sub roll. You get the soft chewiness of the sub roll then there house made marinara sauce with the perfectly cooked, tender, juicy meatball, then the nice creaminess melted cheese. Best Meatball Sandwich I have ever had. Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions: Made with in house made sausage, red and green bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese on a sub roll. Another awesome sandwich that was on DDD (Diners, Drivins, and Dives). Off the first bite you again you get the soft chewiness of the sub roll then the snap of the sausage casein loaded with spices, then the hit of the sauteed peppers and onions, then on the back end you get the amazing flavor of the house made tomato sauce and melted cheese. Straight on mouth punch to the taste buds! My Favorite Sandwich Chicken Parmigiana: Made Lightly fried and breaded chicken with melted mozzarella & topped with out home-made sauce on a sub roll. Best sandwich on the menu! Once again right off the bat you get the soft chewiness of the sub roll then you get the nice tender, juicy white meat chicken with the light crunch from the breaded crust of the chicken. Once you get past that awesomeness you then get hit with the amazing home made tomato sauce and the melted mozz! I am telling you its a must have! If you are going to get an amazing pizza you have to go with the Chicken Pesto Pizza: The Pizza is Grilled Chicken, Pesto Sauce, Cheese, Fresh Tomato, then I added sausage, and ricotta cheese. The pizza crust is perfectly cooked. Not to crunchy, but soft, chewy, pull apart greatness. Your first bite you get that delicious crust, hit with the amazing pesto and fresh tomato, next the juicy tenderness of the chicken and the spices of the sausage, then you get the nice creaminess of the ricotta cheese on the back end. There is a lot going on but you have multiple amazing flavor layers that your brain will thank you for! You are looking for the most authentic Italian in AZ and be treated like an Italian family? We are from out of town and this was our 1st time to DeFalco's... Food was fantastic, and staff was very friendly... If you're looking for someplace that has atmosphere this probably isn't the place for you... But if you're a foodie this is absolutely the place for you... Everything we tried was excellent... Our party ordered 2 pizza's, 1 calzone, 3 salads, and Ruben sandwich. Portions are enormous and the flavor is off the charts... 2 folks in our group got a piece of carrot cake and some cannoli to take home both were absolutely delicious... Next time we're back in Scottsdale we'll also be back at DeFalco's!

Beef cheese steak sandwich, delicious! Italian sausage with onion and bell pepper( taste like a meatball sub but better),delicious! Pasta with meatball, delicious! greek salad, refreshing! I recommend it.

Ordered a take home margherita pizza from here. Customer service was decent, granted they were busy at the time. The pizza itself had good sauce and cheese, but way too thin. I'm a fan of New York style thin crust, but this was over the line. I could almost see thru the slice. Borderline translucent. I liked the flavor of the pizza, just wish I got more.

Absolutely delicious! Everything was so classically flavorful and the dessert option... Amazing, fresh and yummy. Recommend to anyone looking for a fresh Italian deli.

Ok here’s what ur gonna do. You’re gonna take yourself to DeFalco’s. You’re gonna get the Eggplant parm + basil (get extra sauce. Trust.) and the Maximus sandwich + basil + balsamic/olive oil + tomato (and + lettuce if you’re feelin frisky). You’re gonna get a heart shaped jam cookie. And you’re gonna sit and eat it and astral project after the first bite. It’s a lot of great food for a very reasonable price. Treat yourself to a peroni if it’s that kinda day. Cheers

Update: 6/24/23 — Ordered the Lasagna today. It was very good. Very few issues with this visit - ie missing side salad; no knife; inattentive cleaning of tables; and no paper towels in the men’s room. Good value for the food. Generous portions. Update: 5/14/23 — Came this evening to try their pizza. Ordered a 12” with Italian sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The pizza came out fairly well. Outer crust was crisp and good. Some “fwop” in the center; so ordering next time to have the pizza cooked well should tighten it up. I had some concern seeing red onions used, but after the first slice those concerns were nothing to worry about. I don’t care for red onions. They have a unique bite that kills the palate. I’m not sure if they have sweet or yellow onions. I’ll be sure to inquire upon my next visit. I’ve been here several times for lunch, or to buy bread or cannolis. The combo is quite good. Their Maximus could be a little spicier. It’s not like the delis I’ve been to in Chicago, but they’re close. The breads are good quality. Sadly they don’t have a slicer for slicing the loaves for the customers. Some loaves have an excess amount of flour on them; and the bags don’t always have ties on them. The Kalamata olives are nice — pitted and that nice salty flavor. Lastly, those who know will know: “leave the gun and take the cannolis.” Best to order more than one.
