Beef cheese steak sandwich, delicious! Italian sausage with onion and bell pepper( taste like a meatball sub but better),delicious! Pasta with meatball, delicious! greek salad, refreshing! I recommend it.

Ordered The Maximus sub sandwich on a crunchy French baguette for lunch and it was positively delicious! Great atmosphere (lots of young people) and everyone having conversations about the Cardinals! Returned for dinner and ordered the fettuccine Alfredo w chicken - delicious x 2! Great service, really friendly all around. The layout has changed a bit since it reopened after Covid shutdown. I was a little confused about where to order at lunch, but the situation was efficiently rectified by the gentleman who graciously took my order. Restaurant is busy and clean! Brought dinner home to eat while finishing the game! 😻🍴⚾

Ordered a take home margherita pizza from here. Customer service was decent, granted they were busy at the time. The pizza itself had good sauce and cheese, but way too thin. I'm a fan of New York style thin crust, but this was over the line. I could almost see thru the slice. Borderline translucent. I liked the flavor of the pizza, just wish I got more.

Best sandwiches in town. Feels like walking into a proper East Coast deli. They get very busy though so I highly removed calling and ordering ahead for pickup. It’s not a big place so there’s not much room to stand and wait and the small seating area is full of diners. Desserts are amazing too, but they also have a little supermarket area. One of our favorite places to eat.

Absolutely delicious! Everything was so classically flavorful and the dessert option... Amazing, fresh and yummy. Recommend to anyone looking for a fresh Italian deli.

I love this restaurants food, everything has been so wonderful. I’ve done the pizzas, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, and salads. Nothing disappoints! This place is always extremely busy, so I do the call ahead ordering to save time. The only downside is that the orders never seem to come out exactly as I ordered them (a caprese sandwich instead of the salad, a different soup than what was ordered, a missing house salad). However, the staff is always pleasant during these circumstances which is very nice. Great local place!

Ok here’s what ur gonna do. You’re gonna take yourself to DeFalco’s. You’re gonna get the Eggplant parm + basil (get extra sauce. Trust.) and the Maximus sandwich + basil + balsamic/olive oil + tomato (and + lettuce if you’re feelin frisky). You’re gonna get a heart shaped jam cookie. And you’re gonna sit and eat it and astral project after the first bite. It’s a lot of great food for a very reasonable price. Treat yourself to a peroni if it’s that kinda day. Cheers

Been here just a few times since we are out of state. But the atmosphere and the food are fantastic! We will continue to come back!

Update: 6/24/23 — Ordered the Lasagna today. It was very good. Very few issues with this visit - ie missing side salad; no knife; inattentive cleaning of tables; and no paper towels in the men’s room. Good value for the food. Generous portions. Update: 5/14/23 — Came this evening to try their pizza. Ordered a 12” with Italian sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The pizza came out fairly well. Outer crust was crisp and good. Some “fwop” in the center; so ordering next time to have the pizza cooked well should tighten it up. I had some concern seeing red onions used, but after the first slice those concerns were nothing to worry about. I don’t care for red onions. They have a unique bite that kills the palate. I’m not sure if they have sweet or yellow onions. I’ll be sure to inquire upon my next visit. I’ve been here several times for lunch, or to buy bread or cannolis. The combo is quite good. Their Maximus could be a little spicier. It’s not like the delis I’ve been to in Chicago, but they’re close. The breads are good quality. Sadly they don’t have a slicer for slicing the loaves for the customers. Some loaves have an excess amount of flour on them; and the bags don’t always have ties on them. The Kalamata olives are nice — pitted and that nice salty flavor. Lastly, those who know will know: “leave the gun and take the cannolis.” Best to order more than one.

I found it on Yelp. Nice deli with wine and food stuffs.shared a 1/2 meatball sandwich and half a sausage with pepper and onions. Artichoke salad with peppers and loads of vinegar. I think I would like some oil and a bit of salt. Bought a jar of roasted garlic. Looking forward to eating that. The almond biscotti .

The grocery has some original imported Italian goods like meats and salad that you don't find everywhere, but the common things are overpriced. I had a tasty spaghetti sauce with a juicy meatball.

Fantastic lunch spot. The Sandwiches we and my friend had were absolutely delicious. The bread tasted so fresh and was definitely big enough to stuff to big construction workers appetite. Definitely will be going back again to try more of their dishes and as a added bonus their cannoli I had was perfect have to get one or 3

Hands down one of the BEST Italian-style subs I have ever had. I’ve spent significant time in NYC, Chicago, and Boston-style Italian delis and I honestly think this place is better. It’s 33 minutes away from where I live, but it’s a drive I am willing to make. I will be back very soon to try more things on the menu. Pictured: The Maximus w/o tomatoes on an Italian sub role.

There are no adequate words for how delicious this food is. I tried 5 things from their extensive menu and every single thing was perfect. I went twice in my short visit to Scottsdale and I plan on going back every time I am in AZ. The Italian Beef with provolone is what dreams are made of.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere very nice. Food came out very quickly didn’t wait long. Food was delicious i thought the prices were high but definitely worth it. I’ll be back very soon thank you very much.

In the past I had occasionally stopped by DeFalco's to pick up some Italian grocery items and a couple pounds of their sausage. It's a tiny place and the layout of grocery shelves makes the place somewhat claustrophobic and difficult to navigate. It took a while to figure out where we needed to pay for our groceries. There was a lot of take out traffic standing around waiting for their orders, and no matter where I stood, I was in the way. The staff raced around the place in some form of organized chaos. The selection of Italian grocery basics is sufficient in a pinch. They have a small deli case for meats, cheeses, and a small selection of baked goods. They do have a handful of tables available if you chose to dine-in. It's not the best dining environment, but tried to anyway. We opted to order a pizza and eat it there. The pizza was excellent - a very traditional "street pie" that you might find in NY. It was a bit greasy but the crust was perfect. I was disappointed to see sliced sausage - I prefer crumbled, at least it was thick-cut slices. I'm planning to return to try other items from their menu, but I think I'll take it to go.

Luv'd it. Had the Portobello mushroom sandwich. Could not resist the biscotti; maple pecan, lemoncello, or chocolate. Found large pasta shells that will be stuffed this week. Food. Groceries. Deli. Bakery. All Italian.

What a gnocchi! My first time visiting the store and I love how convenient things are there. We came to eat some Italian food and treat me with tiramisu. To my pleasant surprise I had some goodies to go as well. They even have a wine selection to your taste. Now I know where to get some real pasta.

You want authentic Italian in AZ you go to Defalco's! When you walk in you get hit with the authentic Italian smells of Italy. Their dishes are a mix of the old school and new school Italian and you can tell their recipes have been handed down for generations. Their staff is super friendly and treat you like family. Defalco' was also on the Food Network's DDD, so you know they are throwing out some amazing food! The food is Phenomenal. You really cannot go wrong with anything on their menu especially if it has their in house made sausage. Here is what I recommend when you go to Defalco's: Meatball Hot Sandwich: Comes with House made Meatball, with melted cheese on a sub roll. You get the soft chewiness of the sub roll then there house made marinara sauce with the perfectly cooked, tender, juicy meatball, then the nice creaminess melted cheese. Best Meatball Sandwich I have ever had. Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions: Made with in house made sausage, red and green bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese on a sub roll. Another awesome sandwich that was on DDD (Diners, Drivins, and Dives). Off the first bite you again you get the soft chewiness of the sub roll then the snap of the sausage casein loaded with spices, then the hit of the sauteed peppers and onions, then on the back end you get the amazing flavor of the house made tomato sauce and melted cheese. Straight on mouth punch to the taste buds! My Favorite Sandwich Chicken Parmigiana: Made Lightly fried and breaded chicken with melted mozzarella & topped with out home-made sauce on a sub roll. Best sandwich on the menu! Once again right off the bat you get the soft chewiness of the sub roll then you get the nice tender, juicy white meat chicken with the light crunch from the breaded crust of the chicken. Once you get past that awesomeness you then get hit with the amazing home made tomato sauce and the melted mozz! I am telling you its a must have! If you are going to get an amazing pizza you have to go with the Chicken Pesto Pizza: The Pizza is Grilled Chicken, Pesto Sauce, Cheese, Fresh Tomato, then I added sausage, and ricotta cheese. The pizza crust is perfectly cooked. Not to crunchy, but soft, chewy, pull apart greatness. Your first bite you get that delicious crust, hit with the amazing pesto and fresh tomato, next the juicy tenderness of the chicken and the spices of the sausage, then you get the nice creaminess of the ricotta cheese on the back end. There is a lot going on but you have multiple amazing flavor layers that your brain will thank you for! You are looking for the most authentic Italian in AZ and be treated like an Italian family? Found this place during a trip to Scottsdale Arizona. Not alot of space to sit during lunch rush so remember that.. food ? Eggplant, lasagne, snadsandwiches, ravioli? All outstanding ... meat sauce? Luscious.... breads, desserts? All wonderful Italian traditional greatness... ambiance? Well.... lets say the food is worth the trouble... bathrooms and ambiance are not the draws here... go for the love of the food. Cheers.

We are from out of town and this was our 1st time to DeFalco's... Food was fantastic, and staff was very friendly... If you're looking for someplace that has atmosphere this probably isn't the place for you... But if you're a foodie this is absolutely the place for you... Everything we tried was excellent... Our party ordered 2 pizza's, 1 calzone, 3 salads, and Ruben sandwich. Portions are enormous and the flavor is off the charts... 2 folks in our group got a piece of carrot cake and some cannoli to take home both were absolutely delicious... Next time we're back in Scottsdale we'll also be back at DeFalco's!

Originally from Chao, and never found an Italian beef sandwoch to equal theirs until I found DeFalcos. OMG!!! Big juicy, just right and priced right. TRy their arancini ) rice balls) to die for. The best Italian food at the best price, and I travel 40 miles each way just for this

Been living in Alabama for 2 years and I can't wait to come home for DeFalcos. Best Italian food EVER. Wish I could pack the whole place up and take with. Be sure to try the eggplant parm sandwich and the canoli....it's the best. Always good, never fails to please.

This is the best Italian food I have ever had! It was full of flavor, the portions were huge, and the staff was friendly.

The alfredo sauce was too thin. The chicken overcooked and breaded. The lack of response when I left my full plate sitting despite multiple employees coming by was dissapointing. The cost of the food was higher then expected with food that did not match the cost. So bad food, high cost and bad service. Definitely won't be coming back.

We love the food there! When we go to Scottsdale we always go here. From the home brewed flavored teas to the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo to the Tiramisu. Their food is delicious and made fresh. I love the little store inside. Too many goodies to choose from. If your Italian and miss back east (Im from Chicago) this is the place to go to get that homey feeling and food. The deli has all your favorites! Take home some Italian cookies too! This place has A LOT to choose from!

Stopped in yesterday, beef cheesesteak amazing, the hubs had a caprese sandwich on really good 9 grain bread, also excellent! Had to sit outside (in August in Scottsdale ugh, thank goodness for the misters) also wanted to check out the deli meats and cheeses but it 'blocked' the ordering line. More space would be nice. Still 5 stars

Try to visit restaurants that have been featured on Drive Inns , Diners & Dives when traveling. Never been disappointed and DeFalcos falls in that category too! I had the cheesesteak and my husband the meatball sandwich! Both were super!!! We will be back! Good customer service too!

Awesome Italian sandwich at a very reasonable price; lots of menu options. Nice sit-in Deli within a small grocery store. I really wish it was in Austin!

Best old country meats, cheeses and groceries. If you love really high grade olive oil, mortadella, pecorino Romano, extra sharp provolone then this is the place for you. Reminds me of my younger days shopping in Buffalos Little Italy.
