Rico's Pizzeria

I hosted a team dinner for 35 people at this restaurant on a stormy night. I sincerely appreciate their great food and excellent service! It is not easy for a travel team to have a pleasant dinner at a reasonable cost. When i called to preorder pizza and salad, the manager confirmed the number of players and their age groups. When we arrived, nice party-style tables were set up for the players and parents side by side!! Servers quickly served us drinks and delicious food so the dinner started right away. The service of the servers was excellent throughout our dinner! We had a great time on a stormy night as a team and it will last as a great memory. Thank you for your hospitality!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

My experience with Rico Pizzeria, was unpleasant, I order "TAKE OUT" food being chicken Alfredo and hot wings, I was staying at Golden Host Resort Hotel and walked to Rico to order food, my food was placed in the bag and I did not discover until I reached back at my Hotel room, Rico supplied " NO utensils" at 9:30 p.m. so it was impossible for me to eat the chicken Alfredo, top to the package items was not placed on securely so alot of the food was in the bag that had been separated from the package container, I addressed this problem with the Manager on 1-14-2023 and his attitude was not very friendly via customer service, stating to me I should have told them in advance I needed utensils for the take out order! I do not recommend this Comany 5131 N.Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL. with patronage. I purchased the food on 11-13-2023 at approximately 9:30 p.m. for "Take out", $65.00 was the purchase price paid for my menu order with no utensils, napkins etc. Bad attitude from the manager when my disappointment was brought to his attention on 11-14-2923 at 12:30 p.m.

I have decided to give it a 4 star review. The service was great and the food was good. But the prices are a bit steep. 10$ for mozzarella sticks and you only get a few. Perhaps 7-8$ would be a better prices. The pizza is very good if you like thin crust. The only thing I did not like about the pizza is that it has a little too much garlic on the pizza but overall still a good restaurant with good food and good service.

It means something to me when I walk in and everyone greets me with a hello. Makes me feel like when I grew up and went into my local pizza joint. Even though prices these days are higher then back then the pizza thankfully has not changed it's way and it is 100 percent worth the price. Yes you can get more from dominos for the money BUT the food quality is way better the people care more about the food they present and create. Rico's makes my heart happy. When in the darkest of moments.

We are visiting Sarasota & went off of Google for a late night meal for our family after our high schoolers football game. The closing time online was incorrect but the cook most willingly threw together a few pizzas. The staff as friendly & the food great. It is truly my pleasure to give them a top notch review.

Went for lunch with my daughter. She had the spaghetti and meatballs and love it. I had Stromboli and got a Rico special sub for lunch the next day. The Stromboli was the best Stromboli that I have ever had and I have had Stromboli from a lot of pizza places in Central, west coast of Florida, the Rico special which is pretty much an Italian sub was the second best I have ever had and I have tried a lot of them from central to West coast of Florida. It has to be one of the best pizzerias I have been to would suggest it to everyone.

Calzone was very large (see picture) and stuffed. Waitresses were polite, the real thrill was how happy the two male chefs were. They were having a good time making food, smiling. You could tell it was more than just a job to them. I live in NW IL, so it will be a while till I am back in this area. I would eat here again. Nice local business, family feel.
