A great Vietnamese lunch spot in the center of the Little Saigon area. Service here was fine - nothing out of the ordinary for a viet restaurant. The portions are really good, and the side soup came with meat, which is something I don’t typically see when ordering a noodle/rice meat plate. They also had very good calamari, and had very classic tasting Vietnamese iced coffee. Lots of seating available, and doesn’t seem to get too busy. Good spot to dine in for Viet food overall.
When you walk in, they will greet you and sit you anywhere. There are a plastic wall fence to pritect you and others. The menu have a small section for breakfast and lunch but the dinner section is huge. What I ordered was Stir-friend whelks in tamarind sauce, soft shell crab with butter, and 2 pc roti quail. They tastes like how I remembered when I was little. Would recommend 11/10!
We picked 2 orders of (2 nguoi (A) for 4 adults and 3 kids. We also called some more dishes. The food were yummy and plenty for us. I like their canh Chua (sour fish soup). They have us free chè, Vietnamese dessert. And that was pretty good too.
Possibly the Best Hu Tieu Kho dai in Viet Town. Come here for Nuoi Bo Lu Lac and Fried Calamari heads are also outstanding too. Highly recommended
Typical viet restaurant in terms of atmosphere. Cleaner than most. But there’s nothing typical about the food. If you wanna dabble in traditional Vietnamese table food, the type that families would gather and eat, this is a much better option than Nga Trang.
The food and service are great, but the one issue I have is the order that the food comes out. We got canh chua with a variety of side dishes. The canh chua was the last thing to come out by far, which doesn't flow right because it's the main dish. I was not even hungry when it came out since everything else had already been served long before.
All dishes are packed with flavor and well made. The fish in the canh chua comes out pretty raw so give it plenty of time to cook. Suggestion: Cook the fish a bit more before serving it with canh chua. I recommend ordering individual dishes that you want instead of being limited to the sets.
Great addition to their family oriented menu and fantastic staff: “nước mía” sugarcane juice! A must try!

I loved Rong Biển Restaurant, every time we back to San Jose we always come and enjoys the foods in the Rong Biển Restaurant .The food is great, the servers are nice and the prices . The servings are sufficient and the overall tastiness of the items I ordered were really good. The menu has lots of options to choose from. Totally coming back again .

Their soup 🍜 is amazing 😻 i love it. Anyone can enjoy Rong Bien Restaurant’s soup without any doubt.
Good place for company group or a group of friend to have a lunch together.
