Nice little resturant. I go to the shiki Japanese place every few months with my grandma. We love going there. She gets to order in Japanese and the food is great there. I always get the chicken with tempera. It always taste fantastic. The sauce is not that sweet which what I like. It reminds me of how my mom makes it at home.
Family run joint. The food is good for the price. I love the tampura and sashimi. Usually get food Togo since the All food is served on styrofoam type containers.
We had lunch at this wonderful 'hole in the wall' place. A Japonese couple seem to run the place, doing everything to ringing up orders to preparing the food. No frills here but the food is great! The lunch special was enormous and delicious; fried calamarie strips, chicken teriyaki, big helping of white rice, salad with delicous dressing, miso soup, and a small California roll - all for about $8. The place is tiny with little maneuvering room and not terribly clean bu well worth a visit. The service was fast. We were in and out well within an hour.
The food here is really good and decent price. Lunch combos are well worth it. However, the wait at lunch time is pretty long, and the dinning area/wait area is pretty small.
The best food for the money. Very large portions and excellent quality dishes. Their sushis are outstanding. Small place and self serve.
I have to say the food surprises me how delicious it is. Won't recommend to anyone, only reserve to myself. Haha, just kidding.
Been coming here for over 20 years! Great prices😀And very Delicious🍜🍣🍤🍲🍛Same Owners since they opened So busy you must order in person For to-Go orders. Worth the time😊👍👍👍👍at least 1 x week And Recently they have posted a Letter on the Door " Thanking" all their customers for their Loyalty😨💜❤ And Due to a Family Emergency?? Had to CLOSE Permanently!! I'm hoping that No one Passed Away 🙏🙏🙏 if so I send my Deepest Sympathy to The Family❤
This is a wonderful, family owned japanese restaurant. Fresh sushi made right in front of you...does not sit around on "boats" or "trains" getting stale...and lots of wonderful cooked food options as well (for those who prefer this). Do not expect a 'fast' experience (since they are small and make food fresh it takes awhile to get through the ordering line and get food when they are busy), but believe me...if you have the time it is WELL WORTH THE WAIT! Delicious food and big portions make this one of my regular 'go to' places!!
Prices have slightly gone up and the place is regularly busy now, but it's still a good place for some Japanese food and sushi for the price. Obviously it was better before it became known and popular especially with the old prices but still a good deal. This is like a small hole in the wall as this place does not care about exterior or interior aesthetics. Newcomers will certainly question both. But the food has been consistently good for the price. There might be a long wait before you can even order because usually it is only a 1 or 2 person show running the place. You do not get fancy expensive sushi rolls covered in sauce, but you do get several options of all freshly made sushi--and you get plenty for the price and not overly riced. The sushi has always been consistent and fresh and I have been going here for 2 years. Their bento/meal plates are on par with most other Japanese restaurants who serve the same thing but here you get more for your money an in fact it's probably cheaper. They use to take phone orders but now they seem to be too busy that they no longer do so unless you get lucky.
This is a small family operated mom and pa restaurant. The wife or daughter would run the front and back of the restaurant while the husband (presumably) does all the sushi orders. This is a self-serve restaurant so you do need to clean up after yourself. The portion is big enough for two and the food are always delicious and fresh. There are no phone order and the wait can be long but, it's all worth the wait.
Love this place. Tempura is the best! Portions are huge and prices are very reasonable.
Don't go when you're in a hurry though. They only have like 3 people working there, so it takes a bit to get in to order, but the food is worth it. Highly recommend it.
Food is great the place itself not so much. Came here because it has good reviews but when we walked in my first impression was not so good. The place is so small and the few tables they have are so crowded together. We literally had to squeeze ourselves into the place. So we decided to try anyways.
Nobody greeted us when we walked in. We had to be informed by a customer, waiting for her food, to walk up to the register and order. So we ordered the special of the day teriyaki chicken with gyoza. We waited for about 15-20 minutes for our food. When it arrived wow! it looked amazing...great presentation and lots of food. California rolls are amazing. We're definitely coming back . Husband says he has a new favorite place for Japanese food.
Great japanese food at an amazing price! A nice little family owned restaurant, they're pretty busy most of the time so if they don't pick up you may have to stop by. They're also really good about putting on their voicemail if they are going to be closed unexpectedly!
