Awesome bakery with lots of familiar buns, sandwiches and pastries you might see in Japan. Prices are really good for the bay area. Definitely order some onigiri to bring home as well! Got the curry and ginger beef onigiri and both were pretty tasty. The melon bread was decent and the sandwich I got was excellent!
Gets a bit busy though, so expect a bit of a wait (the onigiri is freshly made, so they might need some time to make them for you as well)
An absolutely delightful bakery with incredible tasty selections of sweet and savory items. We tried many buns, some onigiri, and drinks. Everything was so good!!! My new favorite bakery! Also in talking to some of the other customers they’ve been coming for many years and all speak so highly of this place. So glad we went. Now every time we are in San Jose we will come here!

The boys loved this place so much when they were younger specifically for the "ufo" bread. Both chocolate and green tea ufo bread.
Not sure what it is for I took a bite of the ufo bread but didn't give me any sparks.
They said it is soooooooo good and perfect hence why they still love this place 😄
Other pastries they get:
Chow mein bread
Spaghetti bread
Ham and cheese cutlet burger
Custard cream Danish
Crab roe and seeawed
Pork sandwich
And many more they get so much snacks that I let them go crazy
While I get cray cray with my own addiction, the onigiris yum!!!!
The beef ginger, Kinpira gobo, spicy tuna, smoked salmon, chicken teriyaki and sake are what I always get but I've tried all their onigiris and everything was very tasty and fulfilling.
Now my favorite little bakery. Got a couple buns and sandwiches for a walk and it was so light a delicious. Strawberry bun was my favorite. Bread is made in house, and you can definitely tell. 100% recommended
For many years, this has been a staple bakery that I always find myself craving. I recommend the Melon Pan, Strawberry Sandwiches, Onigiri, Chow Mein Bread, Mini Strawberry, Egg Salad Sando... the list goes on. Honestly, I have never had a bad experience here. Everytime I visit, I try to buy something new and I usually don't get disappointed.
The quality of their pastries are very consistent. The melon pan especially is always made perfectly. Recently though, I have noticed that the onigiri rice balls have a lot more rice than usual... I got a shrimp tempura one and it was 3/4 rice. The prices have also increased over the years. Still delicious, but just a lot of rice for the price.
Definitely come in the morning if you want to choose from the biggest selection. The staff are really hardworking and do their best to keep the line moving. I came around 10 am on a Tuesday and the line wasn't too bad.
Absolutely adorable and delicious bakery. Lots of different options of Asian pastries to choose from. Cakes are also made to order, tastes amazing, and aren’t too pricey. They also have some classic snacks like onigiri, masubi, and sandwiches. Lots to choose from in a small but option packed store!
This is such a great place to go for baked goods, onigiri, sandwiches, etc. The line was long when I got there but it was well worth it. The teriyaki chicken and unagi had meat in the middle of the rice ball. The Sake/Salmon had pieces of salmon distributed throughout the rice. Never tried onigiri and it was definitely a hit, especially with someone that doesn't like seafood. They liked the teriyaki chicken. FYI, the onigiri you'll have to wait until you get to the front to order it. Otherwise, most baked goods are out for you to take and bring to the counter.
This is definitely a treat! Curry bread is a must and their onigiris! We Picked up some bread and sandwiches too. Customer service is 5star for me too!
You don't see a lot of these around. Very homey Japanese bakery with iconic breads you don't see at other places. I especially love their onigiri. They sell mini versions of things, so it's easy to snack here, too. The staff are all really nice and speak Japanese / English. So much variety and super delicious 😋
There's usually a line to get in on weekends, so if you're in a hurry, they also sell their stuff at the Mitsuwa!

Definitely one of the best bakeries in the San Francisco Bay area and possibly even the best Japanese bakery in northern California. If you like Japanese pan, check this place out. Don't think you'll be disappointed however, keep in mind that this place can get very crowded, so get ready to wait in line.
