Review Uncle Boy's - San Francisco

Jeff Ho
This is a sympathy four star review. It was kind of sad to see all three businesses across the street shut down. I hope Uncle Boy's can stay. We used to come here years ago. Ordering in person at their terminal felt impersonal. The workers were busy having a conversion with themselves and ignoring the customers. No hellos or help with ordering. I had the O.G. burger $9.50 and onion rings $9. My order was for dine-in and they put it a brown paper bag and they didn't ask if I wanted water or anything else and went back to joking with the other employees. They don't bring the food out to the parklet. I'm not sure why I tipped. It is one of those fallacies where the option to tip is at the counter and not after the meal. The little 4oz burger tasted OK. It tasted like a Jumbo Jack but with a toasted bun and whole slice of red onion. I really should have went up to Laurel Village and had a Super Duper burger instead. The service is much better there along with the food. But that's a chain restaurant.

One of the only late night spots in San Francisco, and one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Can't believe it was that inexpensive too. Definitely going to come back here, service was great, restaurant was clean.

The cowboy burger was excellent. I ordered via the app and didn't want to spend on the french fries and they just so happened to have a few floating around the kitchen there and they gave them to me so these are nice people!! The neighborhood is somewhat dynamic. It's family friendly with young people and dogs and quiet. So don't come to party. Come to eat and relax. Perfect to-go. Two man kitchen plus a register personnel seems about right

I had their og burger. I don't know how they can sell a burger this good for only $9. Fresh ingredients, quick service, can't wait to go back and try the cowboy.

Smaller place than I expected. Burgers are good. Staff is friendly.

My veggie burger and fries were delicious and high quality. The bun was fluffy, the veggies fresh, the fries not oily and crisped/seasoned to perfection. Super casual, short wait, nice service.

Great place to pick up and eat outside or take away. The burger was pretty good, juicy and good. When you get there you need to order your food on a kiosk a the front. I forgot to put cheese on my burger, although it was still pretty good. When you order the machine ask for your phone # I thought it was to for a text to pick up your food. Ours sat for a few before asking, and it was done and sitting on the counter. The fries were stale, not sure if sitting for that time did it or if they were in the tray before they put them in the bag. I would go back and ask for the fries to be fresh!

Prices have leapt up all across the menu (+$3 to the burgers and onion rings). The onion rings here are still great, but my recent visit has me questioning the value and cleanliness. In my original review, I praised their service and great onion rings. Their service is kind of cold now, and I saw one of the staff grabbing raw bacon with his bare hand which was probably washed, but I did pause to stare for a second. The onion rings are fried to order, which ensures they're perfectly crispy and the onion inside snaps when you bite into them, instead of slipping out of the batter. Also, I got the OG burger with American cheese. It's comparable to a Whopper from Burger King. The patty was slightly crisped, which I liked, but also nice and juicy. However, they could have used a little less salt. Under the top bun, there was ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, then a slice of tomato implanted inside the rings of a red onion, then American cheese with the patty as the last ingredient to the bottom before the pickles adhered to the bottom bun with more mayo. The burger was done in about four minutes despite the cashier saying fifteen minutes. Also, this place used to have customers around the clock. It still gets customers but definitely isn't as busy as it used to be. This restaurant has gone downhill a little, but I'm hopeful they'll recover and still have the same quality of food I remember.

Went there for a quick bite to eat. The place is mainly take out. They do have a parklet. On a good clear day, it would be worth to sit down. I had the Cowboy Burger which was good. The fries were crisp and salted. I think they could offer a little more fries for the price. Overall, if you want a good quick burger to go, this is your place. By the way, you can order ahead of time on their website.

Nestled in the heart of the Richmond district this Filipino burger joint has been here for many years offering a large array of different types of burgers as well as chicken sandwiches as well as Filipino snacks. They have a few seats for indoor dining as well as a covered outdoor dining with many seats available however there is no outdoor heater so definitely bring a jacket.

My favorite burger spot in SF! I have been a loyal customer for years and recently I have been leaning more towards a vegetarian diet. I usually order the cowboy - the best burger ever! Today, I decided to try UBs Veggie Patty and delicious! I am so happy I can still have my fix even though I am a vegetarian! Not only is the food delicious and fast, they are truly about being a part of the community - as they do so much to give back! Love Uncle Boys!

Their cowboy burger, which comes with thick slices of bacon and tangy sauce, was amazing. I would come back just for that. I also enjoyed seeing all the framed SF Giants newspaper headlines on the wall. Good times.

Good, just very average and unremarkable. I had a wagyu burger, very reasonably priced for less than $10. I was expecting a tender, juicy patty, but it was tough and dry. Perhaps it was frozen? The fries actually were great, I loved them. Very peppery. $3 for a can of soda offset the cheap burger. But there's no point in eating wagyu beef if it's going to be dry. There are also incorrect or missing ingredients that would compliment the fatty flavor of the wagyu. Dining here is outdoor only.

it p gud :> counter service 💯 but kinda pricey. the burger was good, I liked the bun and the sauce on it. Their lumpia is hella looooong. The longest lumpia I've ever seen. Very impressive, very delicious. they gave me more lumpia than i asked for bc they're nice :D

Lumpia is so good it's worth the mouth burns! That being said, the onion rings might be better... and just as hot! Good luck waiting for this goodness to cool down. There is a good lineup of sauces to choose from for your dipping pleasure. you can't make a bad choice. I'll be back for a wagyu burger soon. Thanks, UB!

It’s a super great burger take out place in SF, especially in late night. Every time, I order Cowboy Burger with added Jalapeño and Avocado, and Onion ring with their special cowboy source. Very yummy and fulfilling..

Great food but sadly it seems like they changed their hours every day. Been trying to get a burger literally since the start of 2018 but every time I call or walk there there’s a sign saying “today we are closed...” or “today we open at...”. Wish I could give a better review but at this point I’m just going to find another regular burger joint with consistent hours.

When I get a hankerin' for a local burger, this is the spot. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are really tasty. They can get a bit soggy but then again, that's half the point of a juicy burger. I can't eat here too often because it's pretty high calorie food but when I want to treat myself, it's a great spot. It's a small space and parking isn't great (but then again, where is it great anywhere in SF) and you may have to wait a little longer than usual for your order because they're rather busy most of the time. But in the end, you'll be glad you waited. Good fries and onion rings too.

It’s one of those fantastic finds you discover around the neighborhood! Their Jefe burger 🍔 was DELICIOUSLY made, where the bacon melds well with the angus beef! And the price was so ridiculously inexpensive! A must try!!!😋

I've worked in the city now for 12 years as a delivery driver and now a garbage man so I've been around all over SF and I can really say that this is the best burger joint in the Richmond and maybe all SF!

You sure make it difficult for me to give you my business. A few weeks ago, I tried to phone in a to-go order on two different days. The phone just rang and rang over the course of multiple calls from 4:30 until almost 6:00. You don't have anyone answering the phone at dinner hour? Then tonight I called to order a chicken sandwich and was told that the place was totally out of chicken. Out of chicken at 6:00 on a Saturday night?!? Half your menu is chicken. That's three times I tried to patronize your place, and you can rest assured there won't be a fourth.

Best burger joint I've ever been to, hands down.
