The dining room is set essentially in the lobby of the hotel but don't let that put you off because everything from the atmosphere to the service and of course the food were all luxurious and fantastic!

Not too busy on New Year's Eve, so service was prompt. I liked the main course of wagyu and coconut dessert. Hamachi crudo starter was just ok. No coffee/tea service at the end of the meal seemed a bit lacking. Overall I liked the decor and setting a lot. Looking forward to when they start offering other meals at a lower price/less formal occasions.

We had an incredible dining experience at the 1881 restaurant. The service was absolutely amazing, the food was delicious, and the overall ambiance of this iconic San Francisco building was a treat. Special shout out to our server Hana who was just wonderful, and to Kenn who gave us a warm welcome and goodbye. See you again soon!
