Yum Yum Sushi House

I worked at the original Yum Yum Fish from 2011 - 2012. When it suddenly closed, I wasn't shocked because it was expected. Their health score was consistently a C-, they were shut down several times, the rats were HUGE and the co-owners hated each other. When this place opened again, I thought a bunch of terrible things since they used the same name as the original place. Turns out, the best sushi chef that I worked with at the time decided to open this place up with the old namesake! He was the only chef I trusted to make my food when I worked here. I try to visit whenever I visit San Francisco and the food is excellent and he's done a great job. Anyone who's been in SF a long time knows how much of an institution Yum Yum Fish was when the Japanese fish monger still worked here. It went downhill but I think the current ownership is doing a great job reigniting the support behind the name.

Just ordered for takeout. Told ready in 10, ready in 9. Perfectly packaged. Got home, hot food still hot, roll good temp. Miso on point, gyoza quite possibly the best I’ve ever had and spicy tuna roll, delicious. Less than $20 before tip. Fantastic. Incredibly happy. Parking is not by any means anything they can control but if it was easier I would be here ALL THE TIME. So. Good. Thank you!
