This place does sandwiches right! I can't say it's a hidden gem because the locals definitely know. I ordered the steak melt and it was amazing, the right amount of meaty and fresh with the cucumbers and greens balancing the meat. Sauce was on point, not overdone, just the right amount of each. Everyone there was very friendly, and the turnaround was lightning quick. Another great spot to put in the sandwich shop rotation

Hazel's Kitchen is a GEM. The food was AMAZING (yes, caps are necessary). I had the lunch tacos w/grilled chicken breast; my wife had the roast turkey on sourdough with smoked provolone and cranberries. Both were perfectly prepared and had excellent flavor profiles. Wow, can't wait to go back sometime.

Hazels is our go to lunch spot and it never disappoints. I usually go for the grilled chicken melt but so far haven't had a sandwich or salad I didn't like.

Absolutely the greatest little sandwich shop ever. As someone who works on the hill, Hazels fed me for nearly four years every single day. This place is incredible, and I always thought I made the best sandwiches, but this place packs more love betwixt two pieces of sourdough than you ever thought possible. So enjoy. Multiple times.

Go to Breakfast spot in Portrero Hill! Dank Breakfast Burritos, Sandwiches, pretty much can’t go wrong with whatever you decide to go with. Recommend the: - Chorizo Breakfast Burrito ( believe me when i say, this is a staple in my life) - Jordan Special Sandwich No seats in the restaurant, but there is some shared seating area outside

Ordered a poppy seed bagel with eggs and cheese - it was delicious. The best bagel preparation I have ever had. There is also outdoor seating which makes the experience even better. Can't wait to go back and try more options here. We also paired the bagel with coffee at Farley's - seems like a routine to follow in the future.

Tiny neighborhood cafe with excellent breakfast which was both satisfying and flavorful! I ordered the scramble with gluten free toast. They mistakenly served it with wheat bread; have celiac and wheat will make me ill. I confirmed with the staff who kindly & quickly remade my order without issue. The scramble was amazing & the filling (veggies, meat) was generous. Highly recommend this neighborhood eatery! Hazel's Kitchen is located next door to a Farley's coffee shop. The two pair nicely together & both can be enjoyed via outdoor seating provided by a public park on the street out front.

One of the best breakfast burritos ever. Awesome egg-to everything else ratio. My sister had the scramble and gluten free toast. Mom had the breakfast sandwich. Ate outside on their patio with coffee from near by Farley's. No wait. Good alternative to the 1+ hour wait at Plow down the street. Superior food, great service. Fan of locals.

Great neighborhood and friendly staff. The food itself is delicious and homey, hitting the spot if you need some comfort breakfast that isn't too heavy. Prices are great especially for the area!
