Try their egg tarts, specially if you are lucky enough when they just came out of the oven. The warm egg custard and the lightly fluffy pastry are a perfect combination.
Good quality baked goods at a reasonable prices. Looking forward to try out the cakes next.

Do yourself a favor and try Chinese pastries for a change .Located amid the hustle and bustle of San Francisco Chinatown at the corner of Stockton Vallejo St. This hidden gem has a variety of delicacies to satisfy any sweet tooth. Try the Chinese style Cheese.cake it's delicious!
fancy wheat field bakery is a self-serve chinese bakery at the edge of chinatown and north beach. they sell a variety of sweet and savory pastries, mooncakes etc. grab a tray and fill it with what you would like, pay at the counter. cash is recommended to avoid a card fee.
i've been a couple of times now and have had the red bean bun, sponge honey cake, and pineapple bun. reasonable prices.
my favorite is the pineapple bun. under $2, it is sweet and soft but with a crunchy exterior top. i like how fancy wheat field's is a tiny bit salty as it really brings out the sweetness. i've tried a couple of pineapple buns throughout chinatown and SF, and fancy wheat field has my favorite plain one so far.
my only wish is that it could be served warm or they at least warm it up after you purchase it, because the baked items have been sitting on the shelf all day.
The buns and rolls are HEAVEN for the taste buds.
I got the coconut one. Sooo good!!
Good buns here. I still remember when they first opened in the early 2000's. It was exciting to pick up a tray and grab whatever you wanted with the tongs. Not a lot of Chinese bakeries did that. There was less plastic back then because each bun was not wrapped in their own plastic bag. Covid really messed things up. My favorites here are the ham & egg and pork rolls. So flavorful. For about $2+ a bun, it is fun to get a variety of buns and eat them in front of the TV when I get them home with a cup of tea.
Their meat floss bun will be considered excellent even if they are put in the competitive Chinese bakery market
Best meat floss bun I’ve had these years (I just came from China so trust my words)
Can’t use credit card for orders under10 bucks tho
Quick service. Clean bakery. The Japanese style cheesecake, red bean bun and napoleon were all very good.
Delicious food and treats. We bought 2 savoury items and one sweet cookie for $6. Polite service
Surely in this area, so excited to find a bread shop like this. Many, many types of sweet & savoury bread, buiscuits and cakes to choose from. Individually wrapped. So excited to put on my tray. Recommend your visit there.
Good baked goods, including cakes and bread. Just the smell alone outside makes me want to go in and get something to eat.
