I went to this place with my friends after a tango class and we decided to try the big vegetarian combo with injera for 5 people. They have a variety of African and Chilean wines in case you would like to try their drinks 🍸 😉
I went here for my birthday in May and it was absolutely delicious! We had the vegetarian combo and meat combo as well as sambusa and some ginger ales.
My daughter who is usually picky really enjoyed this and the server made sure she got a mild spice meat. I can’t wait to come here again.
The service was quick and friendly too!
First time dining here. We had Manna as our server. We asked him to serve us whatever he'd like for a group of five and he didn't disappoint. My favorite in the platter was the Kilwa Begee (lamb, bottom left next to collard greens), Okra (top right above carrots), and Shiro (split pea, bottom yellow). The St. George beer was also good. It's kind of sweet with notes of honey. We also learned that the Injera bread is gluten-free, which is made of teff flour and processed like sourdough with a starter and baked on a crepe grill.
Also, eat with your hands, right hands. It's so much fun.
Got the #15 combination plate for dinner and an extra side of rentals. The lamb in the combo was my favorite 😍 definitely ordered extra injera!
Lively atmosphere, but still came in at 6:30 and was able to grab a table for 4 with no wait.
Full bar, tasty food with lots of vegetarian and vegan options, plus nice waitstaff!
Great food and cool spot! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was we asked the waiter for a box for our leftovers and she said she'd get one, but then just threw the extra food away 😞
Was amazing to go with my two friends. We all had never tried this kind of food before and now we all can't wait to go back it was so exciting, delicious and most tasty! Clean, beautiful environment, good service. Thank you! Five stars from me, can't wait to come back to eat more💖
Amazing Ethiopian food!
We ordered their vegetarian platter and chicken curry, both were delicious!
Staff are friendly and are willing to guide you in what to order.
Injera bread was fluffy and the curries had well balanced flavors!
Definitely recommend this place!
Despite little competition for Ethiopian / Eritrean food in SF, this place is great! 2 person vegetarian platter is plenty of food! About $40 after tax. Absolutely delicious. Only complaint was extra injera was a $1 extra. Salaam was a great hostess!
Great vegetable platter. Each dish is perfectly balanced and very bold, and the injera is tender and acidic. The beef sambusas are awesome too. I really loved eating here, and I found the prices to be super reasonable.
This is hearty soul food right here. Came here at 6pm and there was no wait but it fills up fast. We got the meat combo and the new Eritrea special (#16). They were both so tasty taste. We polished off everything, literally. There is definitely a kick to the special with jalapeños but I loved it (even though I can't really take spicy). All the meats were tender and flavorful. So happy to have found this place after our go-to Eritrea closed up shop. Highly recommend!
