Had a lower expectation for this place before going in and yet did they prove me wrong! It is not your everyday sushi/nigiri restaurant; it is more of a Japanese beer house with a great selections of Japanese grill small bites. The dishes are small yet sharable. You can tell chef takes pride of its food. Don't let the inconvenient location stop you from giving this place a try! 🇯🇵🎌🎏♓🐡

Skewers galore. 😍😍 Their yaki onigiri was made to perfection. Rare in SF I must say. Sake options were fantastic. Loved the nanbu bijin dai ginjo. Gyoza was authentic with pork belly. Pork belly kushi yaki was a tad disappointing. Karaage was right on point. It has been a while since I was last there but now I will return more often.

This is one of the few remaining true Japanese places in the city - not 'Japanese inspired' or 'Japan seen thru the eyes of California'. Actually run by actual Japanese people serving actual Japanese food. It is the closest you will find to a real Izakaya around these parts - serving good inexpensive food designed to be enjoyed with beer after work. Nothing fancy or pretentious. Just excellent food made with great ingredients, well prepared and meant to be enjoyed with friends... loudly. Support this place. It's the real deal.

Amazing taste! The location or the design might not be great but the staff is very friendly and the food is delicious! Have been there probably now 4or 5 times and looking forward to the next time. Try the sea urchin with the soft boiled egg and the mochi bacon if you go there!

The food was really good! Definitely worth coming back here again and try out some of the other dishes! My favorite were the mochi bacon, soft tofu soup, unagi rice.

Great little Izakaya place in quiet end of mission, near Hayes. Food is excellent, especially the various fried chicken dishes. Good selection of sakes and drinks too. While I'll not say things are cheap (this is SF after all), it's one of the more affordable Izakaya places in the city. Great value for money.

Good food! Small with a nice personal feel. A bit expensive. (Of course... I mean, it's in San Francisco...) Staff was friendly, service was quick, food was excellent! What more can you ask for? I would recommend eating (and drinking) here and we would definitely visit again if we vacation in San Francisco again.

We've been here twice because we enjoy the options and reasonable prices. Extensive menu includes apps/shared plates, skewered grilled meats, salad, as well as entree type options such as ramen and more. Environment reminded us of Japan. Bring some friends and get some beer and you can't go wrong. Come early or make reservations - try to go here for a spontaneous meal at dinner time and you will have a decent wait.
