Enjoyed delicious deviled eggs with homemade hot sauce and tomato soup with mozzarella balls. Combined with skillfully crafted cocktails it was a great dining experience. Will come back to try dessert!
The first time that I came here we schlepped from the Mission looking for a quiet spot for dessert. This had the right vibe with comfy seats but it was 30 minutes before closing.
We made a reservation but were a bit early. The host offered us the option to sit by the bar while a table opened or take a seat at a high table. We opted to wait for the seat by the window. 8pm rolls along and a wave of people arrive and our window seats are given to someone else even though it was empty and we reminded the host that he promised us those seats. We eventually got seated but in a little nook which was cozy but not what we were promised.
Our bar tab was transferred to our table which was convenient. The bartender was super helpful and let us try our wine which was great because I wasn't keen on the chardonnay that they had. They did have a rose on tap which all three of us eventually ordered. One of my friends ordered a Bees Knees which wasn't on the menu but the bartender looked it up and whipped one up even letting her try the gin.
We ended up ordering food tapas style. We had deviled eggs, a cauliflower side (a bit too much citrus with lemon and lime), crispy brussel sprouts and salad with salmon. You can eat or drink your dessert here so we did both.
Great little brunch spot near castro street! I got the scallion waffle and chicken. Yum! Hubby got the Benedict..... and the Benedict came on biscuits! Oh my lord was that a nice surprise. If you've never had a Benedict with biscuits as bread..... you're missing out. They have some outdoor seating which is perfect for those nice sunny days. Also great if you have 4 legged furry friends with you! They also have chocolate filled donut holes.... so. Yep.
Amazing spot for comfort food, Chef Joseph is a magician. The decor was welcoming and the food was amazing. Service was extremely attentive as well.
The house cocktails were on point as well. I enjoyed both the "The Sure Thing" and "The Whoopi."
During our visit, the brussel sprouts really stood out. My party couldn't stop raving about how tasty they were.
Great place for happy hour or date night. Really looking forward to my next visit.
Tasty drinks, tasty food, good for groups! We showed up in a large group and they were very helpful and accommodating to get us seated. They play Running Pauls Drag Race on the TVs etc, great fun!
Cozy, casual and stylish place for brunch. The cocktails are great. Service is great. Nicely decorated place.
Fun and lively weekend atmosphere. Went for brunch. Can be pricey if you're hungry, but wide selection of brunch items and cocktails. Even though they were busy, I did not feel rushed.
Yum yum. Great interesting food. Very attractive and extremely friendly staff. Can't miss the experience in sf... Bringing the standard up in the a Castro. Our favorite! Great job!
My husband and I eat out all the time so we read a lot of restaurant reviews, and pay great attention to recommendations but it’s rare that we end up at a place we both LOVE and our visit to Finn Town Tavern was one of those rare times.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we loved the vibe. The place is chic but casual and fun with an awesome bar. It represents the old San Francisco but it’s really where old San Francisco meets new San Francisco.
The menu is all about comfort food with a twist. In fact, their slogan is a “tavern with a twist”. We asked our friendly waiter what to order and he suggested their most popular appetizer, the deviled eggs, he also mentioned their hamburgers and the fried chicken sandwich which are neighborhood favorites, and their bbq is smoked in-house and is served with their own homemade black garlic bbq sauce. So we ordered the deviled eggs, the chicken sandwich, and the bbq. And I shouldn’t leave out their cocktail or the desert. The drink menu is so fun and fresh with cocktails honoring Bay Area legends. And our Pie Hole was most unique and delicious too.
So to simply put it, the deviled eggs, my husband’s chicken sandwich and my bbq ribs, our drinks and desert were outstanding. So much so that we’ve already gone back a second time and there is so much on the menu that we haven’t even tried.
This coffee crumble cake was amazing! Love that the coffee and cream were the dominating flavors and not the sugar.
