I've been to a few dozen Omakase over the years and This place is the best. The food is amazing and delicious. Not to mention, the service is very courteous and friendly. Worth every penny because Roger provides enough food to make sure you are full. I came here 3x in a week because all my friends and family had requested me to bring them to a Sushi Omakase. All 3 times, menu is different. There's no set menu. Roger explains every dish he prepares for us. He's very funny, witty and knowledgeable about sushi culture. Every person I brought here has nothing but positive comments about him. I highly recommend this place.
I had an amazing sushi experience at this SF restaurant! The sushi bar seating allowed us to interact with Chef Roger, who took us on a delightful journey from the sourcing of the fish to the art of savoring each bite. I was pleasantly surprised by my newfound love for fish varieties that I would typically overlook elsewhere. This can be attributed to the exceptional quality, meticulous preparation, and Chef Roger's expertise. The overall experience was truly worth the price, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.
Incredible omakase with Roger at the chef’s counter. I love how interactive and thoughtful he is with each guest. Every piece of fish is unique and flavored to perfection! Personally love the hand roll, scallop, tuna flight, ikura and wagyu!
His surprise homemade desserts at the end were exceptional.
Chef Roger just gave us the most amazing sushi dinner event possible! Friends took me here for the Omakase experience at the bar - totally worth it. It is not only about eating high quality food but also learning a lot from Roger about sushi and how to enjoy it best. Omg. There is literally nothing like dinner at the bar with Rodger making everything for you like you have never had before. Best experience. Amazing food. I come here every time I visit San Fran.
What a fantastic experience!!!
We had been to Zushi Puzzle probably half a dozen times over the past few months, but decided to sit at the bar since there was no one there. Best move ever! It was just the two of us and the Chef, Roger. He asked what we do and don't like then walked us through each dish for probably 14+ courses over two hours.

Are you kidding me! If you like sushi then you MUST go here!!! This is not just a place to go on vacation! In fact, it's a reason to go to SF for anything even if it's just to go here! The fish was unbelievably tasty, fresh and extremely well prepared!! It doesn't matter where you live on this planet, if you like sushi, you MUST go here!! Roger is welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and extremely kind! One of the best food experiences of my life!
Roger is a legend. I’ve been to most omakases in SF and this is the best one. Insane pieces of fish that you’ll never see elsewhere, and amazing preparation. He goes through the process of aging a lot of his fish — sushi chefs rarely take the time to do this! This food is insane.
Came here for omakase on my birthday today, and this was the BEST omakase experience I’ve EVER had. The fish alone was incredible, but Roger (sushi chef and owner) alone made this an unforgettable experience. Sit at the bar, chat with Roger, and have him educate you and feed you some of the best fish you’ve ever had. Absolutely amazing.
Our last day in SA and I have to say that Roger was the cherry on the top! Best sushi I had in my life! You have the sit at the bar to get the best experience and taste explosions. Roger was very nice and also told us how to eat each delicious sushi he made. This is a story that I have to tell anyone who will visit SF!!! Thank you very much, Roger!! Please come to Germany and open another restaurant ✌️
