Happy Lamb is a hot pot hotspot in the heart of San Francisco. Bring friends, coworkers, family, or yourself! The soup options are practically endless, so there’s always more to explore here! On 25 October, I ordered the pickled cabbage (sauerkraut) broth, sliced chicken breast, and wood ear mushrooms. I requested a side of chillies (“hot reds”) because I love spicy food. The broth itself was soothing and full of crisp cabbage, livened up with tangy scallions and zesty ginger, and dotted with goji berries. It’s truly a superfood and sure pairs well with chicken and mushrooms! The chicken was tender, lean, and hearty, and the wood ears had that characteristic leathery, chewy, gelatinous texture. Note that this is a chicken and beef bone broth, but vegetarian broth is available upon request. It is a vegetable stock with carrots, onions, celery, and garlic, making it also suitable for vegans. Of course, I cannot forget about the excellent service and the pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Came here with a group of 9 and this place was super fun to go to! We even got a private room. Good: - So much variety! I had so much fun choosing what to get from the extensive menu - The tomato broth was absolutely my favorite - The noodles were great too, I liked the hand pulled ones and the udon - The meat was all really yummy and I liked beef and the pork the best Bad: - Decently long wait times, pretty busy around dinner time - Decently expensive, but what did you expect from hotpot? Overall I would come again! It's a great group event.

Perfect place for a celebration of newbies! I chose to eat here for my birthday and had a great time! We split two pots for 5 people and could've done a 6th with ease. We tried 4 different broths: the two signature ones they offered were both fabulous! We also really enjoyed the spiciness of the red one pictured. You get a great variety of meats, veggies and even noodles! They mention that you don't need dipping sauces since everything is seasoned really well (I agree) but we got them anyway because it was our first time there! The sesame paste they offer was really scrummy and paired really well with the meats we ate! The lamb was of course delicious and necessary to have, we could probably just eat that and be content! Can't wait to go back!

Great spot to eat in downtown. The server was really friendly and always stopping by to check on us. The food was really high quality and reasonably priced. I split with 2 others and it came out to be around $30 per person.

We have just discovered our new favorite spot! The soups are very rich in texture, layered in complex herbs, and all ingredients were fresh. They showed us the dude who specializes in slicing fresh meat, he's a master of his craft. The staff educated us very well and we had a great time eating there. Will definitely return.

The broth is the very best one I have ever had among all of the Hot Pot restaurants! Absolutely the top of the top! The meat dish is great, especially the lamb collection is very fresh, good price with great potion. The restaurant has been in San Francisco for over 10 years, so it looks old but very clean. I love the “historical look” here and appreciate the clean and details of the decoration. Service is great, especially from the owner who is very generous, cheerful, and sincerely cares about customers. Highly recommend! The best place to have an authentic Hot Pot in San Francisco!

I went here for my first hotpot experience and it won’t be my last. I love all the options and endless combinable ingredients paired with broths. Everything was fresh and prepared with precision, especially the thinly sliced meats, the fresh noodles and the gooey custard buns. The staff was knowledgeable and helped guide me through the experience, assisting me in making the best selections based on my preferences. My new favorite spot in sf!

Excellent service, location, and prices! Close to Union Square, less than 5 mins's walk. They offer significant portions for meager prices compared to other Hot pot places! Tomato broth is tasty and flavorful! Dinner time will be busy, so it is highly recommended to come early! Settings and ambiance, in general, are old since they've been in business for over ten years and planning to remodel soon! Hopefully, their business will catch up after COVID-19 so they can have enough funds to renovate! The owner and staff are incredibly attentive and friendly!

This place is extremely cheap compared to other places that I’ve been to. Each plate was around $10 and the portions are a lot bigger than what we expected. I definitely recommend ordering little by little so you aren’t surprised with the food portions like me 😅. Would definitely come here again. Service was amazing, had a great time.
