De Niro Ristorante

Staff is super pleasant. Fried mushrooms were excellent! Pomadoro sauce is good. Pizzas looked great, they were to go. I would go here again for a tasty Italian meal. Parking is tight. They have a few spots in the lot. Street parking is also available. The dessert are not overly sweet. Which I like very much. Also the coffee is quite good. Bravo!

I have gone past by this place many times and thought a Italian restaurant on convoy wouldn’t be interesting. But it turns out to be amazing ( and nice to your wallet)! I had veal picata, which has much more dimensions of flavor (due to a variety of seasonings they add) than any Italian food I had. The garlic bread and tiramisu are also impressive. The salad with the meal is soso (it’s ... well... salad).

It was a very enjoyable and satisfying dinner at De Niro's tonight! Sam is an incredible chef with a great personality thrown in and added to the good friends that I went there with, made for an experience that was so good that it will be very hard to match. The Chicken Parmesan was perfection and the best breaded mozzarella cheese sticks and breaded eggplant that I have ever had too. I look forward to coming back to try their pizza and some other dishes as well. Thanks Sam!

A relatively new Italian restaurant in Kearny Mesa that's very good. They have a large variety of different items, including seafood, pasta, salad, pizza, and even steak and veal. The owner Sam is a really nice guy. He took the time to talk with my family about our food and share a little about his life with us. The Putanesca pizza we ordered was really incredible. The baked ziti and lasagna were also very tasty and flavorful. I highly recommend coming in amd having dinner here. My family will definitely be back!

Authentic Italian food made with love, pride and a lot of heart...We'd give this place 10 stars if we could.. Chef Sam was great...he took the time to chat with us and made sure our meal was perfect. The food was fantastic- from the homemade Italian dressing on our salad and the best damn garlic bread I've ever had to my husband's lasagna bolognese which he absolutely scarfed...I chose the chicken cordon blu with bolognese which was wonderful and was enough to feed an army! Don't leave without trying the tiramisu. We will most definitely be back...everyone should check this place out!
