My first and last visit to this awful place. We were informed that they don't have a single chicken dish, or we have to wait about an hour. So, we ordered vegetarian. The waiter told me that it's not very spicy, maybe 5 on a scale of 10. After 35 min they brought me something absolutely uneatable with rotten lime on top and some disgusting white sauce to maybe cool it down (?) . The best and only good part was their Naan bread, but as the sauce they brought KETCHUP with it!!!??? Unbelievable and even more unbelievable that somebody is giving this place more than one star.

The food was, edible. One of the worst Indian restaurants I've ever been to. The staff was stupid and it was as hot as an oven in there. The air conditioning was broken and everyone was dying of a heat stroke. I have no family now because they all melted in the seats. Everyone I know and love is gone. Thanks Flavors of Mayrua, great food and service. 👍

This place is interesting because it's good, non vegetarian food particular to Kerala, India. The food itself is above average, not to be compared to ammachi's home cooking, but it will take you home in a craving.
I've been here twice and it's positive experiences overall.
The portions are quite small and the food is quite expensive. Beef fry is something like $14 for 2/3rd full container.
They are a niche market since there really zero other good South Indian places in SD. I'd go back again, on a payday.

Superb restaurant! I really don’t know why the review average is so low, but this is not at all a reflection of the place. Excellent South Indian food like dosa . The biriyani and sabji I got was tasty too! I would recommend this place if your around San Diego and are craving for some South Indian food!

This was my first visit. I came with a small group of friends, just five of us. Several of them had visited this restaurant in the past and highly recommended their lunch buffet which was only on Thursday and Friday. We arrived today, a Thursday, only to find that they weren't having the lunch buffet today because the usual Chef was at the other new location. Imagine our disappointment! We had difficulty communicating with the waiter. Although I do think he was doing his best. But we finally learned is that the normal chef, who I believe is also the owner, was not at this location any longer. There was only one other party of two in the restaurant, yet it seemed to take a very long time to get our food. It tasted good. I've had better and I've had worse. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the palak paneer. The flavors were good but honestly I thought the chicken tikka masala was awfully skimpy on the chicken. The palak paneer was also good and I would order it again. Our next dilemma was trying to split the bill. We had asked him to give us each our own bill so that we could pay individually. We finally gave up after waiting what was probably 10 to 15 minutes and just paid the combined bill. One of my friends with me believes so much in the regular chef that is usually there that she wants us to go try the new location in La Jolla. Hopefully it's better all around. I usually take pictures of my food but did not today. The plating and the general appearance of the food was lackluster. Again nothing was bad. It just wasn't great.

Vegetarian food promises to satisfy your taste buds. We enjoyed every food ordered. Coconut chutney was too good. Have ample time during weekend to allow to serve you.

Based on other’s reviews on south indian food, we had very low expectations on food. So, we didn’t order south indian specialitys. We ordered chicken 65, garlic naan, chicken pepper masala curry and asked for spicy taste. We didn’t regret the order. All of them were tasty and spicy. We liked the food we ordered.
