I love this place. So does my white, American wife. Our typical Sunday involves going to the zoo in the morning with our kids. Then coming to get lunch with Saini and his staff at Flavors of Mayura! Their whole menu is very authentic south Indian food (I'm south Indian) and we typically order the masala dosa, which is unique to this restaurant. Most Indian places do not sell dosas.
We were visiting San Diego from Salt Lake City, and were excited to have Kerala food from a restaurant. The food here was great. We ordered fish curry, and meen pollichadu. They tasted really good. We also took home beef ularthiyathu (spicy stir fried beef), kozhi porichathu (spiced fried chicken), for dinner and they were great too.. For Malayalies in search of Malayali food in San Diego this is a must visit..
This place is interesting because it's good, non vegetarian food particular to Kerala, India. The food itself is above average, not to be compared to ammachi's home cooking, but it will take you home in a craving.
I've been here twice and it's positive experiences overall.
The portions are quite small and the food is quite expensive. Beef fry is something like $14 for 2/3rd full container.
They are a niche market since there really zero other good South Indian places in SD. I'd go back again, on a payday.
They deserved 5/5 STARS!! Awesome FOOD, Great customer service, Great atmosphere, Easy to find the location, Not pricey at all!! Delicious food overall!!!
Honored our Groupon deal and were very friendly. We were the last customer of the day and were treated very nicely.

Superb restaurant! I really don’t know why the review average is so low, but this is not at all a reflection of the place. Excellent South Indian food like dosa . The biriyani and sabji I got was tasty too! I would recommend this place if your around San Diego and are craving for some South Indian food!
Vegetarian food promises to satisfy your taste buds. We enjoyed every food ordered. Coconut chutney was too good. Have ample time during weekend to allow to serve you.
Based on other’s reviews on south indian food, we had very low expectations on food. So, we didn’t order south indian specialitys. We ordered chicken 65, garlic naan, chicken pepper masala curry and asked for spicy taste. We didn’t regret the order. All of them were tasty and spicy. We liked the food we ordered.
