Used to frequent this place often years ago. Went back for the first time in 8 years and had a good time. Upstairs was closed so I can't vouch for the "good" billiard tables at this time. 6 drinks and over an hour of table time was less than $60 - great deal for the gaslamp. Will return soon.

Me and group of friends were exploring San Diego when we came across this place. The pool tables brought us in but we stayed for the drinks and overall vibe. The staff is friendly and you can tell they genuinely like eachother( which really sets them apart from other places) I would reccomend this place as a nice little kick it spot

The drink menu is good and they serve food, as well. They have two stories in their establishment and they contain pool tables, pool equipment, and other games.
The service from the staff was really awesome and accommodating. Staff was very prompt in returning with your orders and are friendly and happy to help. A special shout-out to: Gloria and her excellent service.

No frills place unlike anything else in Gaslamp. It's one of those joints you can go to wearing a hat, shorts, flip flops or even your work uniform and feel totally at home.
The staff is always friendly and the GM does everything he can to please customers.
If you want stuffy and pretentious... Go elsewhere. If you want a casual atmosphere where you can be you and maybe shoot a couple of pool games... Then Joe's is definitely a must visit.

Great place for hanging with friends as there is lots of room. I enjoyed several games of pool. I was impressed with the tastiness of the hamburger and fries. Service was great!

Pool tables are always fun. It is 10$ an HR for pool on off hours so a bit $$$ and the drinks are not cheap either. We went during happy hour and still spent a good chunk of change. Staff was nice, bar is well appointed, and the food was actually really good if not a little limited. If you are looking to save money on food in the gaslamp they had great prices on pub fare.

This is the second time it happens , first one was a $37 over charge and now it’s $13, really disappointed and very upset. Please people double check your statements and make sure they don’t over charge, first time it happened to me I went back and talked to the manager (Shawn) he was really nice and was able to fix the problem and return my money. I love coming to this place and play pool have a couple drinks so I kept coming after the issue trusting they’d be more careful but I guess not. It happens again and this time I’ve desided they can just keep the money if they really need it
Won’t ever come back to this place again, only reason I put a 5 star is so people can see
