Pretty good hot pot. Service was a bit iffy.

Sukiyaki is great! I'm not very familiar with shabu-shabu and I'm glad I cane here with friends who love this restaurant. They walked me through the menu and how to prep and eat it.
The broth is very tasty. It has so much flavor. Boiling the veggies and cooking the meat added more flavor to it. I was so full and satisfied with the food.

I go here all the time, and I adore it! I sometimes try other hot pot places around town — some more expensive, some with different broths, some trendy, etc. — but every time I am disappointed in comparison. Shabu Shabu House is simple, cheap, and absolutely delicious. Nowhere else can you get a variety and quantity of food this good for the price. They even raised prices recently (for the first time in years — I was surprised it hadn’t happened earlier, given inflation), but it is still well-priced and worth it. My partner and I usually eat way past our fill for a little over $20 each. The server is so kind and attentive, always a joy to see. If you’re looking for somewhere to get a good hot pot, this is it!

So obsessed with this place. I moved to Boston recently and think about it often. Would consider moving back to SD for this place alone.

The AYCE options at Shabu Shabu are a great deal. Thinly sliced pork, New York sheak, mussels, shrimp, tofu, salmon & chicken served with an abundant selection of veggies (cabbage, spinach, mushrooms, etc). The dipping sauces are flavorful without being overbearing and the sukiyaki broth pairs perfectly with both meat and veggies.
The delightful server (sorry, I can't remember his name!) is fantastic. We hadn't been to Shabu Shabu in nearly a year and he still remembered us. No matter how busy it is he's always attentive and personable - - making everyone who walks through the door feel welcomed.

I used to be a regular at this place. The renovations really made the interior look the way it deserves. Their ponzu sauce and meat options are amazing! The size and openness of the eating space make it easy to be seen and served. Fair prices for a lot of food, but terrible parking. Prepare for a walk.

Such a great experience. Took my family here and was really cool seeing my daughter cook hwr own food. Highly recommend taking the family. Food was good quality and tasty
Also watch one guy named Kirby serve the entire room solo. He kept a great attitude and listened to everyone's request. Haven't seen this level of service or hustle in a long time.
Definitely coming back!
