Quick lunch options from the hot plates. Many vegetarian options. For dinner, a la cart menu has much more choices. Dine in or take out. Tasty food at a very good price. My go-to Indian restaurant when I am in the area.
This is a very good Indian restaurant with authentic Punjabi and Indian cuisine...
The place is also moderately priced which makes it a good place for quick lunch buffet with multiple options...
The food quality is very good and delicious.
The place is not a place for fine dining though as it is mostly self service. But if food quality and taste is all that matters to you, then this is a place for you to visit...
This place is AMAZING. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is always very friendly, and the prices are great especially for the portions you get.
I come here for lunch all the time and I've recommended it to several coworkers. They always thank me for recommending such a great place. I would give them more stars if I could!
3 star: The food is great, but we went in at 2:30, half hour before they close for their break. And by 2:55, they were practically telling us we had to leave and they turned off all of the lights on us, even though we hadn't finished our meal which took 15 minutes to come out. Ridiculously rude!!
EDIT: 4 star- OK we gave it another try. The food was awesome as usual. The all you can eat with unlimited naan for $8.99 is so awesome. If you are going to eat here, just make sure that you don't come in with less than an hour until closing. They are so nice and fun, but when closing time is near, they will rush you out of there like no other restaurant ever will. We will be eating here again in a couple of weeks. If our experience is as good as this last one, I will be editing this review again to a 5 star.
The service is super good and the food is super fast! The food is mildly spicy and good. The place is very clean but the restrooms could use some attention. Overall, it’s a small place, but there’s definitely enough seating and high chairs for folks. We tried all the choir options.
This review is for the brand new Rancho Bernardo location. Absolutely delicious! I went to the lunch buffet and it is sort of a soft opening right now because it is not officially open yet and the old name with the old owner sign is still up, but these are new owners and they are the same as the original Sher-E-Punjab, And the food is absolutely delicious! Very friendly and kind and respectful service. I did not feel uneasy eating alone as a woman. They had a wonderful variety perfectly seasoned Northern Indian dishes. They did have some Southern Indian options as well, but they are Northern Indian, themselves. The basmati rice was fresh, and did not taste like it had been sitting around all day. The price of the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is very affordable. While I do eat meat sometimes, I primarily I'm vegetarian or even vegan, and they had absolutely a delicious variety of vegetarian friendly food! They make their own cheese there, And I tried the paneer tikka. Very perfectly seasoned, and their homemade cheese is light and fluffy. Also, unlike many all you can eat buffets I have been to, this seemed very fresh and the food was not overly salty. It was just perfectly seasoned. Another standout dish was the veggie korma, which is one of my favorite dishes, and I will say this is the best veggie korma I have ever tasted. The restaurant is very clean, and I will definitely go back and bring my friends. Another thing about the service, it was just right. If you needed someone they were available, so you never felt like you were being ignored, but there was no hovering either, which was great! Really fantastic, and I can't wait until the location on Bernardo Center Drive is officially open and known to the public!
The $10 AYCE deal is great! The restaurant isn't the fanciest, but the food is fairly simple, tastes authentic, and will definitely fill you up. The karahi paneer was my favorite of all the options on the buffet--the sauce was rich and perfectly spiced.
This unassuming place is home to some of the best Indian food I've had anywhere in San Diego county. Very inexpensive with fantastic flavor. If you're in the area (and even if it's a bit out of the way) you need to go here!
The chicken tikka Marsala was the best I’ve had in San Diego. My wife had the biryani, and she loved the spicy flavors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.
I came for lunch and thought I had seen a lentil soup on the menu online but couldn't find one on the menu in store. They made me one with lentils and veggies right there on the spot and it was delicious! Thank you! Will definitely return!
