🇿🇦Tasty pies and milk tart. The pastry of the pies was fresh and chewy, the meat inside the steak and mushroom pie was tender. The milk tart was also delicious and just like the milk tart I’ve had over the years. The owner Graham is also friendly and we had a brief chat over his move to the US and how South Africans can be found in every corner of the world

Came here for Biltong. The Biltong texture is a bit softer than Biltong from Stryve. It also has much less seasoning, so it means you can add your own. I enjoyed using truffle salt on mine. I also sampled the meat pie and meat croissant, which were unique and enjoyable. Overall, I do suggest Perky's.

Amazing authentic South African food. Fish and chips are the best I've enjoyed anywhere. The takeaway meat pies and sausage rolls remind me of Australian meals when I was growing up.
I highly recommend Perkys for good delicious meals!

I used to frequently visit Perky's every week from Los Angeles for work. Their biltong and droewors are the best! Unfortunately, I don't commute there for work anymore. I really, really miss that biltong. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and drop in for their food, snacks, and amazing service. Graham, I hope you and your family are well, my friend. Really amazing south african place...loved the meat pies and curries here...never thought i would say this but the curry here is better than most of the Indian places in SD...we got here right before the closing hour, but Graham was kind enough to give us a tour of his kitchen and educate us on South African cuisine.
Ps: It is a very small place and bit hard to find...but dont judge the book by its cover..

This is a great place. Had the pepper steak pie and cornish pie. My wife had the chicken curry. Quality and taste is excellent, reminds me of SA. Also a little store with SA groceries. To bad we live in LA otherwise we would be regulars.

I was doing my usual “find some interesting food for us to eat” search when looking for a new place to check out for lunch with my co-workers when I found Deli SA . Deli SA serves up South African food – mostly in the form of meat pies for lunch. After a little circling around Clairemont to find just where we needed to go… and then driving to the back of the building… and then still wondering if we were going in the right direction, we finally found the place tucked waaaaay in the back. At least there was plenty of parking back there? This is what it looks like. Itty bitty little sign. The “3″ is sad because it’s a different color. There’s a little market side with a few shelves of various products I have never heard of before. Mostly jarred sauces and snacks. This is the counter, with a smiling Lauren. That little shelf above Lauren’s head is where they hold the food they have for sale… yeah, it’s not very big. I was a little concerned since they only had 2 things left by the time we
