Really amazing south african place...loved the meat pies and curries here...never thought i would say this but the curry here is better than most of the Indian places in SD...we got here right before the closing hour, but Graham was kind enough to give us a tour of his kitchen and educate us on South African cuisine.
Ps: It is a very small place and bit hard to find...but dont judge the book by its cover..

A delicious hidden (and I do mean HIDDEN) gem. The meat pies are on point. You would never think that the inside of this small place would look like it came straight out of a Restoration Hardware catalog.
🇿🇦Tasty pies and milk tart. The pastry of the pies was fresh and chewy, the meat inside the steak and mushroom pie was tender. The milk tart was also delicious and just like the milk tart I’ve had over the years. The owner Graham is also friendly and we had a brief chat over his move to the US and how South Africans can be found in every corner of the world
Came here for Biltong. The Biltong texture is a bit softer than Biltong from Stryve. It also has much less seasoning, so it means you can add your own. I enjoyed using truffle salt on mine. I also sampled the meat pie and meat croissant, which were unique and enjoyable. Overall, I do suggest Perky's.
Amazing authentic South African food. Fish and chips are the best I've enjoyed anywhere. The takeaway meat pies and sausage rolls remind me of Australian meals when I was growing up.

What a great little spot to get a variety of South African foods. Both handmade pastries and sausages, as well as canned and packaged items. One of the owners was there and she was so nice and friendly!
Always make a pit stop when in the area. Today getting a special dessert for a birthday. I had to get a warm meat pie for me.

They have a great selection of items and can also cater events.
Very friendly staff. Every pie I have tried has been tasty and I think I've tried most of them at this point.

What an absolute pleasure to shop all the variety of South African foods, even new cuppacino Romanis. New are Bobotie Pies! Yummy!
I used to frequently visit Perky's every week from Los Angeles for work. Their biltong and droewors are the best! Unfortunately, I don't commute there for work anymore. I really, really miss that biltong. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and drop in for their food, snacks, and amazing service. Graham, I hope you and your family are well, my friend. This place has the best meat pies. The Cornish Pasty is my favorite. They also have lots of South African foods & candies.
