The food and service are amazing! Definitely #1 Birria spot! Upon arrival the cashiers are able to fully describe each dish and assist in helping us choose. This was our first time and we will definitely be returning and bringing our guests. Also, come early there is a consistent line. All worth it.
Having birria this great for breakfast was a highlight of our vacation! Helpful staff serving delicious food at great prices. This place lives up to the hype. Use the hot sauce it's amazing and a good burn ;)
Ed Fernandez is in my weekly rotation and it continues to be such a treat. Personable staff greet me with a warm welcome by name even when i call the order in. I always look forward to coming. Food is exceptional and love the stuff. Te amo mucho! ❤️🌮
If you like authentic Mexican food and great tacos this is a venue with checking out. They had very friendly staff and quick for how busy it was too. We plenty of indoor and out door seating and phenomenal tacos. Everything I ordered was super tasty I would highly recommend visiting for a bite.
A true 5 star experience in food and service. It was our first time visiting and the helpful cashier recommended the Ed Fernandez #1 combo which is a bit of everything. We added a couple more Extremos and these are unanimously the best of the tacos we tried!
There is parking and it's a good idea to come a bit earlier to avoid the lunch rush.
100% recommended!
A line is a good sign. Line moved quickly and ordering went fast. The menu is difficult if you don't speak Spanish. Also seating was fast and food came fast. We got birra tacos tostada and two quesadillas. All were good. Be sure to order the consume since it doesn't come with. All good was excellent and far less greasy than other birria I have had. Would definitely come again!
Best tacos north of the border! The food was fresh and full of flavor and the service was excellent. Our waitress made great recommendations and everything came out FAST. Can’t recommend this place enough.
This place is a 10/10 for me. Service is always so friendly, so welcoming and it feels like I’ve known them forever each time I come. I’ve been helped by Araceli, Jorge, Angel, and Adelina and they are all super sweet, super respectful and always very attentive. The food itself is sooooo delicious. It’s always super flavorful, the portions are really good and overall it’s a fast experience. I 1000000% recommend this place for the service, the food, and the cleanliness.
An amazing place with amazing, and I mean AMAZING, food. We got their quesatacos with handmade tortillas. Devoured those, so no pictures. And we got some of their desserts, which we dug into immediately, hence why they look like that in the pictures. This is a MUST try place when in San Diego. You won’t regret it
San Diego Taco Series, Part 11
“If you are five minutes early, you are already ten minutes late.”
Vince Lombardi
While I don’t in any way question this precept of Mr. Lombardi, I’ve struggled with tardiness seemingly my whole life. Having admitted that, yesterday was a notable exception. How could it not be considering this place was crowned “2022 Top Taco Spot in America” by Yelp and recommended to us by both @biggiesterls and @teachseuss? Dana was curious why coaxing my typically lagging rear end out the door was noticeably less cumbersome…until we had our first bites.
If this is your first visit we’d recommend you order the “Ed Fernandez #1.” This 4 taco sampling is outstanding and if you also order the “Quesotaco” (which is keto friendly because it is served without a tortilla) you will be positioned to make your first experience here complete.
Together this combination of tacos will take you on a journey you won’t soon forget (and won’t want to end). While cheese may serve as your tour guide for each taco, that is exactly where the similarities end. The highlights we experienced with each taco ranged from the surprising texture of the crunchy outer tortilla/soft inner tortilla of the “Tacos de Birria Con Nervio”, to the slow burn of the “Chupacabras” (wait for it! 🥵), to the cheesy “Quesotaco” (is that a taco or an omelette?), to the unbelievable consommé that I’m pretty sure would make cardboard taste good (I caught Dana actually DRINKING it)! If you don’t like this place then you just don’t enjoy tacos. Am I right about that @onemoretacotv? You are my “Taco Consejero” and I trust your opinion on this more than most!
Parking is quite limited, but if my new friend Ruben (“Go Padres!” 😉) is at his post when you arrive he’ll be sure to quickly direct you to the nearest available spot.
While getting me here was no problem, getting me to leave really was!
And that’s…Henry’s Take.
