I love this place! but i do think that the liberty station location has an amazing ambiance and I favor that place over this location. Yet, a friend of mine and myself came in for an early afternoon wine tasting session before dinner and met Dave?
who was really knowledge able on the type of wine we were tasting, the flavors we should notice in taste/smell, it made more a much more informative experience. We sat with him for an additional half an hour just talking cause he was so pleasant! definitely coming back to this place just for the service.
Spacious place to grab a glass (or bottle) of wine and listen to live music on Sundays. Ordered the half size 'Add Everything' board ($18.50) which comes with 6 meats and 5 cheeses. A lot of bread with it, which I'm not a fan of. I wish they had different options...some gluten free crackers or the like. However, it did come with some fresh fruit which was very refreshing. It is in the heart of Hillcrest and they have outdoor seating as well. Nice place!
A nice, big, airy place to catch some great live music on Sundays. A tremendous selection of wine and love that they have gluten free pizza crust...although odd they don't do the same for bread. The 'add everything' cheese board was decent but $18.50 seemed a bit steep.
Cute rustic wine bar with live music every Saturday 7pm to 10pm and Sunday 1pm to 4pm no cover...
Ten tastings on Saturdays from 4pm to 6pm for $10 (tickets musty be purchased by 5:30) and Sunday 6 tastings for $10 all day while supplies last.
The food is not your typical bar food, tons of specialty thin crust pizza, beautiful cheese boards and one of a kind sandwiches.
Six craft beers on tap always changing and tons of craft bottles.

After the long walk east on University, we needed a break and stopped at Wine Steals during Taste of Hillcrest 2013. They were serving flat crust pizza, Chardonay and Cabernet. We opted to skip the samples, sit down at the bar and enjoy a cool drink. I had a glass of wonderful Trascampanas Verdejo, and Keith went for a Red Trolley Ale. We are definitely coming back to this Wine Steals soon!
Got a groupon here and had a great time. They explained all the cheeses on the platter, and re-explained things for those who missed it. Great selection of wines + champagne and variety of cheeses. Not crowded at all despite the recent Groupon.
Great little spot to grab a glass and some gossip. Their cheese plate is enormous to maybe bring a friend -- or your appetite -- wine specials are killer and their whole bottle prices aren't half bad either.
Great retail prices on bottles and only $6 corkage if you drink it there, Sunday nights no corkage so even better! Happy hour Tues thru Fri and $5 mimosa PINTS sat and Sunday till 4!
If you're into smooth fruity wine but not so sweet try their Golan Wine :)
Been here with Wine Fanatics (meetup). Great place to meet talk and socialize.
