Been going here since the early 90s and still go here. Hands down my favorite sushi spot in San Diego. Fresh is best and they're the best. Hands down. 5 stars and then some...

One favorite places to have sushi .every roll you try is amazing.always fresh , wonderful customer service . Atmosphere is a lovely and quiet.
Continues to be some of the best handrolls we can find for the price. They stuff these ones and don’t cheat you on the amount of fish or the flavor. We have gone to more expensive places and they have been terrible. We have been to other places that exclude the veggies and put too much rice. Don’t bother with the other rolls because we have tried them and they are only okay. The handrolls will keep you coming back again and again.
Solid Japanese cookery. Service was efficient, that's it.
Some highlights:
Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura. Light and airy but also satisfyingly crisp. Well done.
Deliciously fresh with a nice crisp texture. Seaweed Salad is all that.
Perfect example of a Rainbow Roll. Fresh fish atop just the right amount of rice and crab. Couldn't be happier with this.
Shrimp Tempura Crunchy Roll. Good tho I wish it didn't have cream cheese.
Don't bother:
Crunchy Roll. This was gross. Salmon and tuna were so fishy I almost spat out the first bite. Avoid this one at all costs, not good.
Otherwise very good and next door to Soapy Joe's!
Going out for date night with the wife, decided on Chili's. When we got there, we saw this place tucked away between the taco shop in that same mini mall. It had good vegetarian options for the wife, and I love sushi!!! Nice little spot, delicious rolls. Regular rolls were reasonably priced at about $6. The Eel Roll was fantastic. We got one specialty roll, the Spanish Roll. It was delicious as well. Great service, and fast!!!
This is my husband and Is FAVORITE sushi spot. We always get 2 Cali’s, rainbow roll, dragon roll, and tempura. It is ALWAYS the best quality and so fresh. Service is great and the entire vibe of the place is really relaxed clean and comfortable. It’s an awesome little date night spot with great prices. We’ve been here soooo many times and it’s always the same best experience
Great sushi and food overall. We got a cucumber roll, salmon roll, teriyaki chicken bowl & yakisoba noodles. All reasonably priced. We sat at the bar and watch the employees make sushi. 🍣🥢
The guy working behind the sushi counter was really friendly to us. They even gave special chopstick holders to the kids to help them eat with chopsticks.
Tried this place for the first time. It us a very small, laid-back sushi place, which I really enjoyed. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. They have a lot of booths, which is nice. There is a very small bar at the front with about 8 seats or so. They do not have a hostess, and you have to write your name and # in your party on a pad of paper. Our waitress seemed a little apathetic. She lost our food ticket (even after we received one of our appetizers (edemame) and one of the entrees) and came to ask what we ordered. She did say that the sushi rolls were being made, but she just lost the ticket. However, after I reminded her of what we ordered, she brought out my miso soup and then another order of edemame. I will say the food came out pretty quickly, even the sushi, and was delicious. The prices are really good too! I will definitely come back again and try some different menu items! Very worth a try!

My fav sushi place of all times!! The service was great. The food was delicious, I loved my miso soup and roll. My bf ordered a teriyaki bowl and he loved it as well. Definitely recommend :)
