Cross Street is a must visit for every San Diego trip. It is located on the busy Convoy Street in a tiny plaza with little to no parking. Usually I opt for street parking to save the hassle of getting out of the lot. I came on Saturday night and surprisingly didn't have to wait. There were plenty of tables at the time. The workers were fast and attentive.
Soju bombs are only served during their happy hour.
Honestly this is is one of the cheaper places in Convoy (around $12-$15 for a meal). If you go here, YOU MUST GET THE BULDAK!!! Nowhere else serves it like them. I wished they would add more cheese though haha. But the chicken is amazing and just the right amount of spicy level. Their chicken sandwich was very meh, I would go with the chicken and waffles instead.

I can to Cross Street with my brother for lunch on a Saturday. I see this place all the time as a frequent FedEx and Bing Haus customer. We were pleasantly surprised by our food here—the chicken tenders were really well-breaded and perfectly fried and seasoned. The chicken was juicy and the sauces were really flavorful. The chipotle slaw was composed well and had a good balance of mayonnaise and chipotle so it wasn’t soggy or super spicy. They’ve also got a fairly large beer list and some interesting looking soju cocktails.

Went here for a lazy Saturday lunch. It was still fairly busy but not in a bad way - just enough hustle and bustle to feel a sense of community but not enough to have to wait, be overwhelmed or have the service be affected.
I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was crunchy and had some Nashville hot spice powder in places. The Belgian waffle was the type to already have a sugar layer over it, which I wish I knew before pouring syrup over it. It ended up a bit too sweet for my taste.
My wife had the chicken fried rice, which turned out to be really good! Small pieces of fried chicken on the side were delectable and the fried rice with an egg overtop tasted as good as it looked.
The soju drinks were pretty good as well, refreshing but with an alcohol that can creep up on you.
We loved how open and well lit the restaurant felt, even on an overcast day. I wouldn't recommend this place for an intimate date, but if you're with a crowd or want to people/car watch, it's perfect.

Delicious chicken and loved the kimchi fried rice. I was really happy they were able to remove the spam from it because I do not eat pork but still got to enjoy it.

Korean double fried chicken is tough market in terms of competition! Rounding up to 5 stars because it's just so good and the overall vibe is amazing. I've been to this location quite a few times and 50% of the time the chicken is perfect, crispy the other 50% of the time it is still beyond belief delicious, but just not as delicious as I know it can be. Overall so so so good and would recommend.
I love the cocktails as well

Love this place. I had the Seoul sauce. Great blend of spice and flavors. The fried kimchi rice was also great. The fried chicken and waffles were well done. Crispy chicken and fluffy waffles. We will be back!

Chicken got the best crunch in san diego, it comes with some heat and a variety of flavors. The atmosphere was awesome, great art and whoever was on aux was Killin it, they even played the demon slayer theme song. Looks like they wear some cool shirts/ uniforms, kinda want one! Should play some anime on the TV's, I'll be coming back like yesterday. The chicken sandwich was more chicken than sandwich and no one could be mad about that lol

The food is SO SO GOOD. My partner and I split their Seoul spicy wings and soy garlic wings. Their Seoul spicy wings are mouthwatering, flavorful, and so crispy. My mouth is watering just typing this because I'm remembering the wings. Their corn poppers are also SO good. I also tried their pride month shots and they were very tasty. I didn't have a single thing that tasted bad. Everything was flavorful and mouth watering. Their customer service was also good and everyone was very nice. Overall amazing experience.

Good fried chicken. Their spicy gochujang sauce was the closest to spicy korean fried chicken sauce that i’ve had thus far. Service was awesome. The girl who helped us as well as the that one shredded dude were really nice. Beer was good too.

Whenever we have out of town guests, we either recommend or take them here. It’s one of our top two Korean fried chicken places.
It’s happy hour from 3-7pm. We love the wings here because they are large, flavorful, and lightly breaded. We got here at 5 but starting at 6, there was a wait. They have a Yelp tablet to put yourself on the list and also check the app when you are near if you can put yourself on.
-Spicy corn cheese - melted cheese over the corn with jalapeño slices
-Cajun tots - basically breakfast tots with sprinkled Cajun spice
-Crispy chicken skin - I did not have any but the others loved how crispy it was.
Make sure you ask for more spicy mayo sauce to dip.
-OG - a classic dry rub that has a sweet taste and Cajun spice
-Soy garlic - the best one
-Seoul spicy - has a kick that made my lips tingle
Parking in this plaza is absolutely horrendous. You would be lucky if you found one. Otherwise street parking along Wienerschnitzel on Armour St.
There’s also a covered outdoor patio that gets packed in the summer.

Great: The chicken tenders were delicious. Crispy, thin crunchy coat with a balanced taste of sweet and umami. We ordered the tender combo with soy flavor and Cajun fries. The fries were slightly skinnier than regular fries and the seasoning had a slight amount of heat. The environment was clean and spacious.
Good: The bathroom was clean.
Bad: Nothing bad..

If I can only choose one cheat meal for the whole month, I’ll come here for sure. I told my husband Cross Street’s hot chicken sandwich is the best spicy chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. He agreed with me after he tried it. This dish is still the best dish at their restaurant in my option. All the slaw, mayo, pickle, bread are just perfect together with a giant piece of very crispy fried chicken. The spicy level is perfect too, it’s spicy but I guess people who enjoy spicy can absolutely handle it. I also love love love their fries, so crispy and flavorful. We will come back here more often. The only thing is there’s always a long line. It’s too popular.

Soooooo good…got the chicken & waffles (Nashville hot style) as well as the Seoul spicy chicken sandwich and let me tell you…it did not disappoint…for the chicken and waffles there was a generous serving of chicken tenders that were full of flavor and texture from the deep frying…and the waffles were fluffy with a right amount of crunch on the outer exterior…combined with syrup…incredible …the Seoul spicy chicken sandwich was equally as amazing…light fluffy bun that was paired with a massive piece of chicken that was coated in a sweet and spicy sauce accompanied with slaw and pickled radish…also incredible…I wasn’t on the highway to flavor town…I was on the runway to delicious land with a first class ticket with both of these items…I will most definitely be back to try their other menu items

Delicious food! Their menu consist of mainly chicken (surprise surprise) but their flavor options is extensive. We tried their Hot Chick Chicken Sandwich combo with Parmesan fries and also 5 Soy Garlic wings. Both were really good.
The service was outstanding. Jasmine was funny, kind, and attentive. Will definitely come back!

Wow! This place is 🔥🔥🔥. We loved our food. Chicken and waffles great just a heads up the waffles are on the sweeter side. My hot chick sandwich was really good. Wife got 2 types of wings garlic Parmesan and soy garlic. All good. Btw, their fries are delicious and perfectly crispy. Service was great, value is great and spot is nice and clean. Definitely going back. Shout out to our server Theo (I think). Not sure I caught his name correctly. Apologies if I didn’t. He is super cool and professional. Thanks again

I came with a few friends and we were seated after just a few minutes of waiting. The first thing that caught my attention was the contemporary decor and good-vibes of the restaurant. We received a testing menu to order from and we immediately agreed to order garlic parmesan wings, soy garlic wings, a few appetizers and beers. The fries and appetizers were great but let's get to the star of the show, the wings. The garlic parm and soy garlic wings were some of the best wings I've ever had. The crispness and the amount of batter were perfect. I watch what I eat for most of the week so when ever I allow myself to enjoy food, I have to be very choosy about what is "worth it". This definitely fits that criteria - what's better than perfectly crisped fried chicken wings and ice cold beer? The wings are made fresh from scratch everyday and you can definitely taste it.
Service was good for a soft opening event but I expect that things will improve by the time the restaurant officially opens after some kinks have been worked out.
All in all, Cross Street Chicken & Beer is what Convoy St. has been missing and I can't wait it officially opens.

TL;DR Best wings in San Diego no contest. Nowhere even comes close to how good these are.
My wife and I stopped here yesterday a few minutes after they opened. After a short 10 minute wait we were seated on the side of the patio facing convoy. Overall appearance and ambiance of Cross Street is great. It's very open and airy and a great place for a casual night out.
We ordered :
1 Cheese Corn
Korean Style wings (6)
Thai Chili Wings (6)
Kimchi Friend Rice (Ordered after seeing someone nearby order it)
All food is made fresh, but even with a full restaurant we only waited maybe 8 minutes for our corn and 15 for the wings. Everything was very hot and fresh from the kitchen and looked amazing.
The chicken was amazing. Crunchy, crispy, sticky, sweet, hot and juicy. The sauce on the Thai Chili a spicier and house-made sweet chili sauce. The Korean wings were covered in a sweet gochujang sauce and were my favorite of the two. The cheese corn is good, though I wasn't blown away by it. The kimchi fried rice was the stronger of the 2 appetizers, though I would consider it a meal since they give so much of it.
If you can get there right when they open (or don't mind waiting) Cross Street Chicken and Beer is one of the best new casual dining places on Convoy.

Great new joint to eat at fast super friendly and great food. We had the kimchi and 2 different kinds of wings and dumplings all soooo fricken good and the music was top shelf. We will be going back to complete the menu. Great job you guys

This place is a such a hidden treasure on convoy. Had my boyfriend and I decided to try someplace new we would have never found one of our new favorite food places! The chicken is phenomenal and the cocktails are super yummy! Keep up the great work everyone! Can’t wait to be back in soon!

I dropped by tonight with my cousins, the service was excellent, we were greeted immediately, seated immediately, and the servers were attentive.
We ordered the Soy Garlic chicken wings, the Garlic Parm chicken wings, and the Franken Fries. All were delicious, the wings were flavorful, and super crispy on the outside, and really juicy on the inside. The fries, even though loaded, stayed crispy the entire meal.
At the end of our meal, the owners came by to check if we enjoyed our meal, needless to say, we are definitely coming back!

The chicken wings were very tender/juicy and sauce had great flavor. No fresh ice tea though, and coleslaw tasted like it just had bottled salad dressing on it. It’s easy to make. I will go back and try more items.

Super friendly, a friend friendly establishment. Roomy and very modern. Felt outdoorsy even indoors. Foods good too could use a bar so I can eat and drink like a loner once in a while, just me my food and my beer and maybe the bartender.

Made the trip to crossstreetcnb on Convoy St yesterday at the behest of the bestie. OMG, great call bestie! These were the biggest, tastiest, and juciest wings I have ever had in my life! We sampled the OG, Garlic Parmesan, and Seoul Spicy, along with tater tots and popcorn chicken. Never again am I interested in going to Buffalo Wild Wings or Wings n Things. There is no comparison! Check it out today!

Great wings! Good variety of flavors and good size too! Very fun atmosphere, I can't wait to go back! Tried 5 out of the 6 flavors of wings and enjoyed them all. Loved the original and spicy Korean the best! Had the fries and the fried pickles too and really enjoyed both!
Barbara Shurtliff Archer
Very tasty Korean flavors and the staff is wonderful. This was our first time so they told us which dishes were spicy (not that many). We had chicken but we will definitely be back to try the fish and chips.
Rob Dye
Everything was amazing! The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to limited parking. Corn cheese was awesome. Sweet and fresh. We had Thai and soy garlic wings which had great flavor. Will be going back soon.

Give me more chicken please. Give me more chicken. It was good sweet, hot and crispy just the way I like it. Keep trying for perfect and add more options.
