Parking: We had dinner at 6:45 on a Friday evening and there were plenty of parking in their designated lot on the west side of the restaurant.
Ambience: small but very busy and Fast pace. Kind of felt rushed dining and leaving to get the line going.
Service: The service was good. Food and drinks were out in timely manner but could work a bit more on hospitality than strictly business
Food: we ordered 5 rolls to share at the table and they’re were delicious. Topped everything with the eel hand roll that loaded and was one of the best I’ve had.

Overall: Food is a straight 5 stars but unfortunately the service brings it down to 4 stars. It did seem understaff for the servers to not really have time to check up on you. Sad to see this location close Jan 31, 2023 but will give their second location a shot with the new expansion.
Amazing sushi. Excellent service. Great appetizers . Quick. Great ambiance. Fun music. Really cute. I recommend the “one love everlasting roll” which is yellowtail avocado cucumber albacore. The fried avocado is amazing !! One of my favorite spots in San Diego.
Fun little hidden gem! This place has large delicious rolls. We ordered the back magic mushroom roll it was huge! Also got Seared Ahi and One Love Revolution (yellowtail based) rolls. Everything was delicious. We also got garlic edamame which had a sweet garlic sauce - lots of other items on the menu besides sushi, some with a Hawaiian flavor. Wonderful staff and the place has great welcoming and positive vibes. We were dancing on our seats to the fun upbeat music too. It's a small palace but really big in personality and flavor. Will be back! Edit: went back! Tried the Rita Marley with tuna..YUM! delicious smoked flavor and just yes. Love this place!
I don’t understand the negative reviews but this place was the bomb. We ordered a lot and everything was delicious and fresh. The sashimi quality was superb for the price you’re paying. I liked the atmosphere, music, and the staff. You have many options to choose from the menu, and the food was ready in no time. The restroom is outside of the restaurant but very clean. Please give this place a try!
Great experience overall; good food, good portions, good prices, fun ambiance. Not a lot of seating and they were busy but our party of 2 was seated immediately since there's a nice even flow of people coming and going. We got the Teriyaki Plate and the Peace Combo (16 pc). Food came promptly and was delicious. Loved the idea of a roll combo, got to taste 4 different rolls without having to order 4 whole different rolls. Would definitely come again.
Giant portions, friendly, hospitable staff and very laid back environment! Sushi Diner has so many different types of rolls and combos that I get something different every time I go! Their rolls are HUGE and iv never been able to finish what I get so I can guarantee you’ll never leave hungry. The whole restaurant is decorated Bob-Marley style, and even the tables are decorated with Bob Marley collages underneath the finish. Me and my family didn’t have to wait long for our food despite them having dozens of online orders to complete since it was their busy time. One of the managers there that night even agreed to take our family photo which was really nice of him!
One of my favorite places for sushi. Great service, staff is super friendly and courteous and the prices are beyond affordable. We had 3 appetizers and 4 rolls with 2 large sake and a Sapporo, all for $70. Can't beat that.
Though it's a sushi place, all the rolls are Jamaica themed as is the restaurant itself. Been coming here for several years and truly one of the places we missed eating at during the lockdown. First time in over a year and it's still a great place to eat with perhaps the best bang for your buck. Get there early or the lines can get crazy and the dining area is super super small.
Incredible!! Super fun place, and the food was amazing! Lots of options; I got two veggie sushi rolls which ended up being huge. Very reasonably priced, especially for the portions. Coming here was definitely the best part of my week!!
My wife and I were so pleased when we ate here. The service was outstanding and the food was incredible, especially considering the price! We came during happy hour and got a roll for $0.99 with the purchase of a beer at regular price. I thought it would be a smaller roll or maybe half of one, I was completely mistaken. Most times when I go to eat sushi I’ll eat 4 full size rolls by myself but I was almost completely full off of this one happy hour roll. I tried to use my hand for comparison. I wound up ordering the Ochoa Rios roll with was just slightly bigger but just as amazing. My wife got the kalbi ribs which she said were very good. My only qualm would be that I wish the tables were larger but the staff was so amazing about taking dishes away that it really wasn’t a problem. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! It is absolutely worth it!
I cannot say enough great things about this hidden gem! It's very small, but oh so worth the wait! Amazing specialty rolls and oh so fresh ingredients! We drive an hour plus each way to indulge here! Try the kokomo roll!
