If I was on death row and I had one last meal, it would be their murgh makhani with garlic naan and rice pudding. This is easily my favorite Indian food place.

omg! sooo freaking good. just go. It's like a hole in the wall place but the food is ridiculous.
I always feel great after eating here! (You know sometimes after eating Indian food from some places, you feel kinda sick afterwards?). I've come here many times and never had a problem!
i WILL say, it's "hit or miss" depending on when you come or who's the chef that shift. MOST of the time, the food is consistently great & will taste amazing, and then a couple times it has been "fine"/nothing special. (I'm not sure if it's a "lunch vs dinner" thing, or "weekday vs weekend" thing, I haven't figured it out yet.) For example, their Naan is legendary & usually made-to-order for you; you CAN tell the difference, it comes to you soft, warm, and fresh. Then those other times, you could tell it was sitting for a bit...
My friend who grew up in SD has been coming here since highschool & says it has always been the Hit or Miss thing, but overwhelmingly the majority of the time this place holds up to its reputation!!
TIP: make sure to sign up for Clover rewards so you can collect POINTS every time you order! The staff doesnt seem to really know about the loyalty program, but just use your cell/the app, and you can keep track on your own :)
The food! Absolutely the best Indian food I've had. We drive past 3 places to come here. Worth it. The service is a little cold, but that may be a cultural thing. But their butter chicken: to die for. There is a secret ingredient I have never been able to match with my home projects. The best deal is the 4 item combo. Freshly made Naan. Cafeteria seating, crowded at lunch time M-F. Pricing in line with expectations. No sticker shock.
Super consistent on their good flavor. They have multiple locations. I used to go to the Carlsbad location when I lived in north county but have been visiting this one because its so close to my work.
Super delicious and great portions for the cost. I got the sag paneer and naan and absolutely loved it! I definitely will be back! The indoor seating is a little small but there is a super cute outdoor patio seating area.
Delicious curries & roti, lots of vegetarian options, served by friendly people in a clean, low key, inviting dining setting. Affordable prices.
I've been coming here for over a decade now. This mom n pop work so hard and they are the best! Treat them right keep the good restaurants alive!
Probably super busy lunch place - but we went for dinner and it was very quiet. Good thing, because we were not sure what we wanted to order. A person in line looked at me and laughed but then helped me to order something and the owner helped too.
I would say the food was OK, I didn't love it like others did in the reviews. But it was good and not expensive. Thankfully the owner let us know that we didn't need to order a combo for both people because one combo was good enough for both people.
Reminds me of back home. Great food, rustic ambience. Any visit to San Diego is incomplete without a stop here!!! Sat Sri Akal.
Punjabi Tandoor sponsored sufficient rice and dal for a Diwali event to raise funds for the education of underprivileged children. We thank them for their support for the event. 🪔
That was a treat! We were looking for something nearby, found this place. So glad we stopped in. Very tasty.
