Rubio's Coastal Grill

Taco Tuesday is overwhelming in carmel mountain store & camino Del Mar store. Better in Ranch Bernardo. But the classic fish taco 🌮 is still delish. If you ask for white sauce & salsa on the side so it won’t get soggy. The Wait is crazy long once you order. I’m very disappointed they only serve beer & soft drinks. Used to have mini wine white/red. I don’t like beer at all.

I received a BOGO offer this month for my birthday. Tonight, we both ordered "The Coastal Trio" plates for take-out...consisting of The Original Fish Taco, Salsa Verde Shrimp Taco, and Wild-Caught Mahi-Mahi Taco. We also filled up a few salsa cups with an assortment of Rubio's famous sauces--Chipotle Sauce, Mild Sauce, and Verde Sauce, and some extra lime wedges and chopped onions. They were delish!!! All three tacos packaged in their unique biodegradable & compostable taco trays with individual compartments to keep each taco upright during transport. Thanks Rubio's!!!

Come in on Tuesday night to try Fish Tacos and the place was packed. Lots of people hanging around waiting to pickup their online orders. Most of tables had been occupied. After being seated we had to wait about 25' for our food. The fish was crunchy and tasted really good. The salsa bar also offer many choices of sauce that is a plus. Next time we'll check in early to avoid the rush.

REVIEW update 7/12/22 Today I decided to try this Rubios again for Taco Tuesday. The service was quick even though they had a long line. And the Fish Taco especiales were the absolute best I've had at any Rubio. The Fish portion was huge, they looked perfect and they tested delicious. First visit at this location. Tip, the CA Bowl is 90% rice. Thought I'd try something other than normal Fish Tacos but I think that they should stick to what they are good at. As the Bowl just wasn't it.

The Manager provided great customer service after there was some confusion with my order and I received the incorrect item twice. Sometimes as a customer, you anticipate a little push back from businesses when an issue comes up, but I didn’t feel that in this case. They were terrific at resolving my order. This was extremely important to me since I have many food allergies. I’ll definitely be going back to that location.

My hubby and I have been going to Rubio's regularly since we moved to San Diego a year and a half ago. We've gone to different locations, but this one is special. The staff is energetic, very friendly and the food cannot be more fresh and appetizing. I love the salsa verde shrimp tacos, but I recently tried the mango avocado bowl and it's to die for... Rubio's at Camino del Sur deserves more than 5 stars 😊.
