By far the best Italian restaurant in San Diego. I've seriously never met nicer people in my life, and the food.. Oh God the food.. I'm Italian and I would probably still consider Alta Marea my favorite restaurant in Italy. I go there for every single special occasion and I frequently dream about their seafood risotto, their lobster ravioli and their cognac jumbo shrimps. Go there. Now. You'll probably find me there as well.
It was absolutely the best authentic Italian food ever! They don't sell alcohol but you can bring your own with no corking fee. Very quaint&the staff is awesome and very accommodating!
The owner greeted us at the door about ten minutes before opening on a Friday night. We had no reservation but she happily seated us. The service was excellent and so was the food. Definitely coming back again on our next trip to our favorite city!
The owner was wonderful with our rambunctious 2 year old. The focaccia was pillowy crunchy bits of heaven. The ricotta gnocchi was my favorite but the mussels and the pizza were incredible. I felt like I was in Italy. What a gem!
This is a very nice place with a great location and atmosphere. I am not sure what Google's cutoff is for two dollar signs but this is more of a three dollar sign place. You should bring in your own bottle of wine, or other drinks, since everyone else does it and you'll feel out of place if you don't! I also wouldn't bring kids but if you do, save some money and split one of the 12 inch pizzas.
The wild boar bolognese here is great. The warm focaccia bread given for starter was also tasty. The restaurant has a nice cozy setup and it’s BYOB so bring a bottle of your favorite vino
We had a great dinner with my wife and 2 boys. The owner was so nice and checked in on us several times. She took our boys back to the kitchen to show them how they cook the pizzas. We will be back on our next visit. Another plus is its BYOB.
Wow, I was so excited to learn about this place! It is somewhat under the radar, a couple blocks off of the main area, and no big sign, but it is worth your while to go. The wild boar pappardelle was amazing and overall the menu is seafood centric, hence the name. Be sure to bring your own wine as they don't sell it there, but you can BYOW, and there is no corkage. It's very small and can get loud, but everyone was having a fantastic time and the staff are great.
Oltre Mare is it nice little Italian restaurant in Pacific Beach. I thought the food was good and the service was decent. One of the unique things about this restaurant is. There is no corkage fee and everyone in the restaurant had brought in their own bottle or two of wine.
I ordered a pizza and it was very good. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.
Delicious food, wonderful owners!!! The was a raucous crowd at the next table which made it difficult to be heard, but the owner handled them beautifully!! The were vegetarian options, which was awesome. My dad likes the "no corkage/bring your own wine" aspect. It was a great evening!
Very delicious food and extraordinary friendly service. The restaurant is small, a reservation is recommended.
The menu is not big but everything seems to be fresh cooked.
If you want to drink wine you have to bring it by yourself.
Amazing small restaurant, people who leave anything but a 5star review are just rude. The gnocchi was amazing as was the pappardelle fungi. Very flavorful food and the staff are extremely friendly. It is byob but not a problem at all.
