The parking is a short walk down from the restaurant, or you can find some across the street if available. The restaurant has 3 different seating areas, it's a bit strange, but they have indoor and outdoor. They also have restrooms available outside at the end of the restaurant. Our server was really nice and attentive:) The food didn't take long to come out and was good. I got the chicken katsu curry, but the chicken could have been a little bit more seasoned or had more curry. The sushi was good as well, flavorful, but the pieces were a tad smaller than I've gotten at other sushi restaurants. I def recommend the monkey brains as an appetizer. We all liked it! They have a good amount of options aside from sushi, even french fries for the kiddos, and a matcha ice cream dessert :)

One of my main places for quick take home sushi. It always tastes fresh and is a relatively decent price per roll. I recommend the monthly sushi specials and the calamari.

Sushi Deli 3 is a great value. This was my first time at SD3, I used to frequent SD2, but sadly it's gone. Service was great with attentive staff. The Hawaiian and Island Breeze rolls were our favorite.

When my sister and I visited San Diego, we decided to try Sushi Deli 3 based on a local's recommendation. We were pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices.
I'm going to focus on the vegan dishes I ordered:
Rice $2.25 - tasted fresh and portioned well.
Edamame Lemon Pepper $5.25 - had a fantastic zing to it.
Green Tea $1.99 - a simple but refreshing choice.
The highlight was the Beehive Roll $7.75 - I would order this again in a heartbeat!
INSIDE: Shishito pepper, avocado, gobo carrot, cucumber & asparagus
TOP: Fresh jalapeños, lemon slices w/ Yuzu citrus sauce
My sushi-loving sister thoroughly enjoyed her rolls too. The service was both friendly and attentive. Overall, our experience at Sushi Deli was marked by its creative and inexpensive dishes/rolls. However, I can't help but wish they offered more vegan rolls on their menu. With the abundance of produce they have available for other items, I believe they could truly get creative and cater to the diverse and growing demand for vegan options.

March 2023: Came here with my wife for dinner when they opened for dinner on Thursday. There was only one party in line so of course we were seated right away. We are returning diners, although last time was back in 2015. The place has not changed from what we remember. There are two separate parking lots, with the one on the back side being for take-away/delivery. We ordered a drink each, gyoza, some nigiri and five rolls. All of the food were not disappointing. The nigiri had great fish-to-rice ratio. The rolls had the right amount of rice too. The gyoza was fried, so a different texture from the more commonly steamed. My favorite rolls from this time were the Triple Threat and the Hot Hot Pearl. The service was friendly and kept checking on us. The environment/atmosphere isn't loud, so it's easy to have a conversation. We would definitely come back again.
September 2023: Came again for a late dinner at 9. The place was starting to clear out so we were able to be seated right away and given water shortly after. My wife and I ordered fried calamari, Black Magic roll, Snapping Salmon roll, and nigiri. The calamari was crispy and cooked well. They came with two different dipping sauces (a spicy and a creamy). The rolls were tasty. The fish on the nigiri wasn't as good, lacking flavor. The nigiri, alone, is not what will get me to come back.

We came for lunch and it was the best deal we have had around here. The staff was so great and the manager Yovana was so accommodating and really treats her staff so well. We will be coming back!!!

An absolute winner. Local favorite, evidence of which is everywhere. Must check out if you're in the area. Budget friendly but high quality. The Hawaiian role was so good, we had it again! I loved the Mango Tango and Spicy Tuna as well. Excellent service from friendly and attentive staff. 🔥💯 👌🏽😋

Found this place on a whim while grabbing a quick lunch after Ross shopping. I called in my order and received great customer service. Picking up was easy and food was ready on time. My dragon roll and Japanese curry dish were delicious!! Highly recommend and I would go back again for dine in.

I really enjoyed this hidden gem. Miso soup was fantastic as were the sushi rolls and garlic edamame. Very friendly staff and nice casual atmosphere. Easy parking when I went with two parking lots.

Don’t judge the restaurant by its location. This little gem is just off the Convoy restaurant row but it’s been here 40 years. That requires consistent quality. The inside is very inviting and with a bar, would be a great place to bring your date. Speaking as a mom. And now for the food. Excellent! The highlight was the minimum salt in all the food including the delicious miso soup!

This is one of my favorite spots for sushi in San Diego. The price points are reasonable. The sushi is good. I love the black and yellow roll. I have taken so many friends here no complaints yet. Sometimes the service isn’t the best especially when it’s super crowded like no water refills, waits but that’s completely understandable in my book. I’ve had only positive experiences here and hope to come back soon.

This is an amazing sushi place for vegetarians esp! The sushi is super delicious and the servers are so friendly. I regret I found this place so late! It has been a go- to place for me and my husband. I haven’t yet tried their ramen but I look forward to trying more of their food! Veggie folks- do try this place out! A heads up- this place is very very very busy so be ready to wait. I assure you that the wait is worth for their food! 😊

As if this place needs any more 5 star reviews! This is the most consistent and supremely satisfying sushi spot in San Diego. Fresh food, superb prices, and downright so reliable. My husband and I love the Baja California rolls, and the spicy tuna poppers, among many others. Some of their vegetarian sushi like the Beehive and Cruchy are just as good, if not better.

I would highly recommend sushi deli 3, it was my first time coming here. The flavors blend so amazing in your mouth. Specially the spicy edamame with garlic, also the friend gyoza 🥟. The miso soup has a amazing flavor and it has some friend tempura. We had the best seller highly recommended it’s four different half rolls for a great price. The baked mussels flavors blend in well.

We ordered four different dishes. The portions are big and the price is reasonable. I really like the rolls. Their September rolls were delicious. It’s in the heart of the Convoy district. It has a parking lot so it’s very convenient. I would definitely go back.

I visited this establishment tonight for the first time after hearing great things about it. We arrived and it was an hour wait for a table. We didn't mind waiting because my friends said it's worth the wait. We got a table and was greeted for our drink orders and appetizers. We then was told by our server he was going on break and lady was taking over. She took our food orders and brought our appetizers and then she disappeared. My table all received their food before I did and I ordered Ramen. We had to ask twice after waiting 20 mins for it to come out. It finally came out and my table was done eating. First the soup for the ramen was so salty it was like drinking a container of salt. Neither servers that were introduced to us came and checked on our table. They did however manage to give two other tables their attention and ignored us! A guy with a backwards hat was flagged down by my friends husband just for to go boxes which took an additional 15 mins for two and then ignored me when I asked for to go boxes for my ramen and my child's plate. He did eventually get it but not till after we had to flag him down again. I asked about military discount and No one knew the answer. I placed a to go order and that came out faster than my ramen bowl. I will not be returning to this place and will tell people about the horrible service and the food not being up to par.

The sushi and rolls are great. So many choices. The value is awesome. We had awesome service for us being a party of eight. She didn't let our drinks get down to half full before she was refilling them. I always recommend thus place to anyone new to town.

If you're complaining about the parking, or the wait time, feel free to take your business to another establishment that will charge you triple for lower quality sushi so you can "get an easy parking spot" lol. This place is crowded because it's awesome! DUH. If it sucked nobody would go here and you wouldn't have anything to bitch about � I recommend it to all my friends and family and Everytime we come we may have to wait 10 minutes for a "kinda small table in a kinda crowded at times" place, but we get AMAZING, fresh, delicious sushi and drinks, great service, and ALWAYS have a great time ���
