Had a very pleasant lunch with my daughter this week at The Joint in Ocean Beach, San Diego. The sushi was quite tasty, I had the Spicy Tuna Roll and the BOMB-A-LICIOUS Roll. There are many other great choices on the menu, too. They have a fine selection of local craft beer and all the usual cocktails. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Best Sushi in San Diego!!! What an incredible experience... each dish that came out was more delightful the previous one! Can't wait to go back! There wasn't a dish that our party of 12 didn't like, and the ones we ended up ordering again and again were the Bombalicious, Catch-a-Fire, Dr Eel Good, and the citrus salmon. My favorite was the ceviche shrimp... spicy and delicious! The sushi chef Jeff, came to our table because we had to thank the artist himself (my phone didn't start recording soon enough, but nearly the whole restaurant clapped for this genius chef!). Thank you Jeff, Ryan, and Maggie for the best meal we have ever had in San Diego! I can't wait to bring more people to try this amazing joint!

I came here after my wife insisted I take advantage of their happy hour and I am glad I did. I ordered so much food and even had a ton I took home and I didn't even go over $40. Our server was very sweet and polite. So was the rest of the staff. I will definitely visit again

Enjoyed the outdoor seating while having sushi and tapas (patatas bravas, tacos). The main menu is a little on the expensive side but the happy hour deals are great.

I can't say enough about this spot. The food is un-freaking-real. Best Sushi in town, and the tapas menu is completely off the hook. I have never had even one bite there that wasn't fabulous. I drive 45 mins each way to eat there. The beer and booze selection is beautifully curated. The staff is friendly and on top of everything. 5 stars is not nearly enough. Just fantastic. So glad they are open for lunch again too!!!!!

We went in with a group of friends for Happy Hour birthday drinks and sushi. We had a great time. Our server, Maggie; was awesome. Good was delicious, especially the pork belly tacos and the salmon bacon avocado hand roll.

Food was great - sushi was impeccable. The bowl that we had with the raw fish had rice that was room temperature. Supposed to be slightly warmer than that but it was appropriately sweet rice so it was still delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing food, drinks(German wine I tried), Great bartenders and staff, great atmosphere! I loved the architecture of the building too. Met great people from all areas of the world! Best sushi ever! Definitely didn't expect that!

The food was good and the atmosphere was great! I loved that the chef was willing to make food off of the dinner menu for the kiddos even though it wasn't dinner time when we went. The portion sizes are big for the size, and the food was delicious. Also, try the truffle fries if you ever find your self dinning here, you can thank me later lol!

Awesome place with great menu. Wings in sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce were flavorful with just the right kick. Shishito peppers were unique and had a great texture. Lemon basil roll was fresh and light. Everything tasted fresh and the items came out piping hot (except the sushi).

Fantastic place! A combination international small plates and delicious sushi. The mushroom burger was outstanding so are rolls. The service was great and alcohol kombucha was rather tasty.

This place was shockingly good ‐ the vibes on the website and outside were very dive bar, but the food was really well plated and tasty. The service was also great. They seemed slammed and we were all the way at the end of the patio, but once our waters came, someone was checking on us pretty frequently and they all had good recommendations and a lot of patience for our group of 6. They do have real snow crab for their rolls and an option to sub soy paper, both of which I'm a big fan of, and I was very happy to see they have sushi available at brunch, not a limited menu. I got two of the same rolls, one in soy and one with nori, and I didn't hate the nori but it wasn't the best I've had (I personally prefer it to be very thin/as tasteless as possible). My shrimp and grits were also quite tasty. Even my friend's side of scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and nicely plated. The only person who had a negative comment about their food was my friend who got the chilaquiles. They were really appetizing and tasted great, but there wasn't a ton of sauce like you'd normally get. The chilaquiles and eggs are pictured. FYI they do have bloody marys (vodka) and mimosas/bubbly, but they hadn't fully built out the bar yet when we were there so didn't have anything like kahlua or liquor if you wanted to mix up the brunch cocktails. Hopefully the next time we're in town they'll have an expanded list!

Excellent! Roaming around OB on a cool Sunday morning looking for somewhere to eat with our pup, we came across The Joint with a brunch menu right on the hostess stand. Menu looked good, so we decided to try. It's was pretty empty for OB so I can't speak on service while it's busy, but I can say that while we were there it was perfect. Our server was polite, attentive, made sure we didn't have any questions before ordering, and got a bowl of water for the pup too 🙂. The food not only was presented beautifully, but it tasted as good as it looked! Today's order: Fresh fruit, truffle fries, chilequiles+salad, and the bolt sandwich+seasoned potatoes. Everything was simple yet delicious, no overpowering of flavors but far from boring! Highly enjoyed eating here and absolutely recommend!
