25 years ago, I was turned on to Afghan food in the Bay Area. My favorite dish has always been Qabuli Palao with lamb. I ordered the lamb shank to-go and the package I received weighed at least 3.5 lbs. I was given some water while I waited and the host also asked if I eanted him to bring the food out to me while I waited in the car. Very thoughtful. He even asked if I was Afghan bc I pronounced it correctly. 🙏❤️ With one bite, I was instantly transported back to my youth. Thanks for helping me relive some great times through your delicious food. I am truly appreciative. Got two meals out of this one too. Sooo delicious.

Best Afghan-Persian/Iranian food I had in San Diego! The staff (Mr. Cyrus) were such stars. The chefs too because the chicken & beef kabobs melted in my mouth and the Qabuli Polo with lamb was just so tasty and rich. The atmosphere takes you places and the doogh (carbonated yoghurt drink) was cool and fresh. Definitely a must-go in Dan Diego. The service is great too because we were a table of 15 people and everyone got their orders on time, hot and correctly associated.

Great food with Great service. The Qabuli Palao had good balance of spicy and sweet between the curry and rice.

Wow, the food is so delicious I can't believe this restaurant was empty. Maybe it was because I stopped by around Saturday brunch time after turning away from overcrowded lines at Snooze across the street. So glad I did. I asked the waiter (owner?) what he recommended, and he suggested the sour cherry lamb stew and a beef kebab. Meats for both were fresh and fall-apart tender, so flavorful. I haven't had many kebabs before, but this is by far the juiciest. I asked for a traditional drink as well, and he warned me, "you might not like it," but suggested a salted mint yogurt drink. It's different, to be sure, but I think I like it. The total price was $36, which was cheaper than I expected! I was having a bit of a bad day, and this experience really turned it around. Highly recommend. Wish I lived closer so I could revisit.
