Everything about this place was great. I had high hopes but they exceeded them. We had two small plates; the samon and ceviche, the duck, and almost every cocktail on the menu.
Every dish had a perfect combination of flavor, and great texture. Our waitress, Megan, had great pairing recommendations for everything we had.
I’ve been to tons of great restaurants in San Diego including Mr As and Water Grill, Kettner Exchange was easily the best value. Amazing food and drinks for a surprisingly reasonable price. We’ll definitely be back!

Wednesday nights have a live fusion style jazz band on the 2nd floor come to find out and luckily for me. They were good and was nice having them play. I sat at the bar and both Jay (female) and the other male (sorry didn't get your name) were very attentive to everyone and had a great demeanor.
I ordered the pork chop and it was a very tasty spicy bbq kind of style (not too much--3 sauce I think they said?) and a nice sized portion (2 nice ribs) with mash and veggies. I highly recommend trying it out. � I finished it up with their caramel custard � dessert and it was just ok because it was too salty... And i like salty. I think there was extra sea salt added but even just the few pieces made it overbearing. It was yummy other than that and finished it all up anyhow. �
The servers that brought the food were also pleasant, even if they were in a hurry, and took the time to explain the dish when they sat it down which is a rarity and a nice touch. �
Give them a visit... You won't be disappointed if you get the same service at a table or first floor that I did. �
This place surprised me the first time I ate here. I had been for drinks to enjoy the ambiance and never thought to try the food. Someone I had just starting seeing insisted that we have to go because I just had to try the kale salad. We went that night and woah… I’m not necessarily a fan of kale or even most salads, but this one did it big for me in the most enjoyable and tasteful manner. Dishes that come are shareable so order a few items for two people to comfortably share. We also got the duck meat ball and yet again… one of the best things I’ve had in a long time. We have come here a good amount of times since that date a year ago when we have some extra jingle. Not necessarily cheap but 2 people can easily eat enough and each get a drink for around $100 flat. Check it out when you have the chance! Week nights are easiest.
We're visiting San Diego and popped in the here for brunch. Excellent food and cocktails. Excellent service. Beautiful restaurant.
Always happy with the food here. Seated on the patio on a sunny weekend for lunch, great social atmosphere. DJ plays music on the patio, if you like a more quiet dining experience the avoid the patio. Our server was friendly, attentive and helpful. Wish I caught his name so I could give him kudos.
We reserved a small cabana here and couldn't have had a better experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable, insightful, and responsive. In fact it felt like we had a team of servers who brought various drinks and dishes and were on top of everything.
The food here is incredible, diverse and delicious. The drinks were equally as delicious, and the waiters/bartenders were extremely accommodating in making mocktails.
Kettner Exchange is a San Diego gem.

Amazing all around. Exquisite drinks and innovative food. Very cool vibe, as well. All the team members were incredible. You won't be disappointed, so put this place on your list.

I had a wonderful birthday experience here. Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and especially the fun and friendly staff. We’ve been here twice and have sat in different areas each time and we like the upstairs outdoor space the most.

Kettner Exchange has excellent presentation with their dishes, on top of creative menu ideas that rotate daily. The way the menu is arranged goes from least to most filling. Unless you order something from the very bottom, where the biggest dishes are, you’ll probably end up ordering 2-3 dishes to get full. They also serve complementary popcorn, which acts as their “bread service”. My flavor was salt and vinegar, although they might rotate that. Everything looked and tasted great.
