We drive from Vegas just for the fish tacos. It's worth it every time. Always good music, great food and great vibes. I've never had a bad experience at the Sandbar.
We were staying in downtown SD ..... but we trolleyed and bussed all the way to Mission Beach for a taco and a big ass Bloody Mary and a margarita. We were not disappointed! Great staff Great food
Spending the weekend in San Diego and this was a great start to our vacation for dinner the first night.. We just walked by and thought it looked good and it was! Everything was hot and fresh. Great menu options for everyone in our party. All the employees were really nice and the service was top notch!
TERRIFIC TACOS
This spot has some seriously delicious Californexican grub. Their soy chorizo queso is outstanding and I loved their simple guacamole. If you love a good fish taco, then this is the spot for you.
I had two TKO tacos and thought they were both awesome. The fried fish was perfectly beer battered, moist, and flaky while the grilled shrimp was a perfect flavor bomb in my mouth. I would want to try each one if I lived down here.
Pitcher of Sandbargaritas was a wise decision I would make again!
The only room for improvement is to have comfortable seating outside and the upper deck open at lunch.
Great Taco Tuesday deals, staff is friendly. There's a bit of a wait but it's totally worth it. Don't wanna wait for a table? Grab a seat at the bar! Such a great time. When you're done hit the boardwalk for a stroll, burb off some of them tacos!
These tacos are next level. We ordered each one to compare. The TKO tacos are apparently number 1 in San Diego. After tasting them and many others on our taco tour, we agree, and definitely a must if you are in the area.
Went here to watch the Longhorns game, since they opened at 9am. My French toast was delicious and my boyfriend's beer was ice cold and they kept them coming. We had a nice time....would have been better if the Longhorns won though. ;)
Side note...bathrooms were very clean and considering it's right next to the beach I was happy to see that.
After spending the day driving here from Tempe, it was nice to just walk down Ocean and grab a bite. All kinds of good food options. I didn't get the fish tacos, but the ones that did in our party loved em! Got the loco fries, was bomb and the service was great. Highly recommend this place.
Not my favorite ambiance, a bit crowded and loud for me. The tacos are worth enduring anything to taste. Fish tacos TKO style or bust. One of the best in San Diego. Brunch choices are solid. The upper patio and view are great for PB. Burgers are also solid, they cook them to the correct temperature.
The Buddy Bowl was delicious. Full of sautéed peppers and onions, with black beans. No rice, which was fine with me. I chose blackened fish instead of chicken.
It was a huge portion. The view was great upstairs.
Only gave 4 stars because it was a bit slow coming out of the kitchen, but the server was great.
Can of corona was $6.50 and the bowl was $16.
After traveling it was so nice to be able to grab a bite to eat so close to the beach!! The food was delicious and the service was quick. The view upstairs was incredible!!
We made several visits to the Sandbar during our recent trip to Mission Beach! This is our go to place and the only place I’d recommend for breakfast. Shelby, Laura, Erin, and especially Zeb were ALL amazing. You couldn’t ask for better service from this group. The drinks were all delicious and made to perfection! When you go for breakfast, consider ordering the Breakfast Sando, tacos, or Hash. They were all amazing!
