Excellent value for money. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Something for everyone on the menu. Even offer an all day breakfast. Highly recommend.
We have been coming to this hideaway for I think about 15 years. Rosa is our favorite! She takes great care of us... there is usually live music and it is a relaxing and comfortable place for families. We are obsessed with their tacos, and they have a great happy hour.
We were tired and did not want to drive to find somewhere to eat. We love good Mexican food and we just loved this place. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the margaritas were amazing.
The rib eye special was excellent. Chips and salsa decent. Dessert chimichanga average. Staff friendly.
Loved it. Fast & polite service. Husband's chimichangas were great and my fish tacos were AMAZING!!!! Two thumbs up from both of us!
I’ve had to travel to San Diego on a monthly basis from San Jose for years and love to stay at the Kings Inn and eat at the Amigo Spot. It’s probably the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and there’s a lot of good Mexican food in San Diego! I especially love the Enchilada Suizas and the beans have a wonderful smoky taste. Margaritas are great too! Friendly staff, consistent good quality food and drinks and great service!
Food here is GREAT! everything taste so good esp. the TJ dog! Fries are great and Tacos is a must try!
Highly recommended restaurant!

The food was authentic Mexican food, hot, and some of the best I have had.
I don’t do reviews unless I really mean it, and don’t judge a book by it’d cover. Odd spot (maybe in your mind), attached to a motel, but the Mexican food has amazing flavor. Together we tried 6 tacos and couldn’t decide on what was best!!! Try this place please, and be sure to get the rice and beans!
Great atmosphere and food. But On the spendy side though for sure.
Got in there and a waitress sat us. We got some drinks and also an appetizer. Ordered food and would have had a dessert which all looked delicious, but had to leave early for personal reasons.
LET ME JUST SAY THIS... This is by far the best Spanish Food i have eaten so far. Im from the Inland Empire and i like to come to San Diego every now and then to vacation and try new food spots and I'm glad i found this place. The service is great and my waiter made me feel comfortable, I appreciate your professionalism senior i really do. Some Spanish places i go to they're sometimes rude and the food is half cooked but not this place. If you've been to SD and haven't eaten here you need to ASAP. I will definitely be returning on my next trip. THANK YOU !!
What a fun night spent here! We arrived on a Saturday night around 8pm. The dining room was full of older folks dressed to the nine!! A live band was setting up and the place was hopping. Seriously, those older folks were moving and shaking...and flirting! But enough about ambiance.
The food is outstanding. The salsa is delicious, the carnitas were so moist! The portions are generous and the price is cheap!!
This isn’t the fanciest place, but it was so much fun!
Come on a Tuesday! The tortas are amazing! I definitely recommend the Pollo asado torta. Wish I had these back home. Soooooo good. Also, my man Armado works his butt off at the bar. Wish I had pics of the tortas I ate, but they were too good to set down for that long.
Stayed at the motel on my way up the coast. Read the reviews and was skeptical, but had to try the attached restaurant as I’ve had Mexican food all over California (Born and raised in San Francisco) and the Southwest and think I have a good idea what good and great Mexican food is. (I’m a serious burrito freak and had the Carne Asada “Macho” burrito...never seen one so large!! -Bought a cooler and ice pack to save the rest and babied that leftover for two overnight stops before I had access to a microwave!!) My verdict is this was among THE best I’ve had to date. Seriously. Plus our waiter, Antonio was one of the most personable waiters I’ve experienced. He was extremely proud of the food he served and his service was excellent.
If you like Mexican food and are anywhere close to this place, you’ll be doing yourself a serious disservice if you don’t try this restaurant.
Place was nice and cozy. I was outside and weather was nice out. Be was delicious. I got me the chimichanga and was delicious. Rice and beans were on point. Def a spot you should consider if ever on this side of town.
