Authentic TexMex tacos. Great flour tortillas. The chips and salsa were also very good and unique. Service was pretty good - a bit better service for the locals, but that's to be expected. I recommend trying. Oh - they have a drive through as well.
Last week i was at the mi sierra jalisco and the food is pretty great, but one of the ladys was being pretty rude to not only me, but her companions as well. She really spoiled my mood and i don't know if i'll go back there again. I didn't really catch her name, but i think her name was Lenor
I've lived near Bandera & Broadview for 2yrs, been to all these little hole in the wall mexican restaurants....we were excited when Mi Sierra opened up. The food is fantastic, and we can feast like kings for $15! My only complaint is the way they've recently blocked off the parking lot. Other than that, friendly staff abd awesome food!!
Why there's always room for another good Mexican restaurant. For months they worked to convert the unique for San Antonio fresh fruit shaved ice place that failed into another Mexican restaurant, of which there are already plenty on Bandera Rd. I wondered what they were thinking and why it was taking so long.
But when they opened in June 2012 their lot was immediately busy. I wondered why.
I got a look at their menu flyer and saw a the full range of Tex-Mex and Jalisco items at significantly low prices. I wondered if they were any good.
After two breakfasts I can say that the breakfast taco's (3 for $2.15 if all same) were excellent. The fried potatoes were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The choriso and eggs were tasty too. The refrieds were very good the first time but the second time they were straight out of the can without any amendment. I wonder why any place serves canned refrieds ever.
Inside I saw why it took so long to transform the building. They somehow manage to pack 10 custom made plywood booths in that tiny building along with several more tables. It is like one of those tiny houses where every item is carefully fitted. It is comfortable and clean. The service is quick and Spanish is the language of choice though they do understand orders in English.
With $3.15 breakfast platters, fresh made corn and flour tortillas, and the full range of Tex-Mex and Jalisco style I highly recommend Mi Sierra Jalisco and bet it will become one of the favorites for 78228 and even draw people from further afield.

Getting breakfast at 2PM is no problem at no extra cost. Fresh, fresh corn tortillas and coffee are the beginning of the flamboyant home specialties. I just kept eating!!
I eat there 3 to 5 times a week. The breakfast tacos are excellent, big, and both the flour and corn tortillas, but particularly the flour, are as good as I have found and both are made in-house, and the Avocado Salsa is addictive! The lunch specials are very good, but, as with prices every where, have recently increased.

This is our weekly stop for breakfast tacos that don't disappoint. Their tortillas are fresh and the flavor is spot-on whether it's sausage and egg or chorizo with potatoes. Friendly staff inside and on the drive-thru. I'm not a fan of drive-thru's so I go inside most of the time and even call ahead to quickly pick up our food.
The area is not much of anything it's not really near much but is easy to find and does have as drive thru!
The menu has almost any tex Mex restaurants you have gone to you have plates, and combos, and a la carte. My favorite is the large fideo locos
Good food some was a little bland but over all the values of prices per plate we're good deals with the amount AND quality of food provided
Chicken Fajita Rancheros were fantastic! The refried beans were excellent, and the rice is very good, too. Serving portions are also very generous. The arroz con leche was absolutely delicious!
It is my first time here, the food is good, I would come again
I've only come through the drive through. The first time my Chile relleno tasted burned. This time it was the chicken in my soft tacos that tasted burned. Maybe it's their trademark taste, but it's not for me.
It was very good the waitress, the wait time, and the food was very good. 3 type of Chile's sauces on the table all 3 very good. Beans were great, both kinds Ranchero and refried the whole plate was good.
Love the food here! You get a lot of food for the price. Food is always hot and fresh.
This place is awesome! Best prices in town, wonderful people, amazing food, and great portion sizes.
