When I was driving I came across this establishment so I stopped. I placed my food order and it was cooked delicious. The chicken pieces were bigger than Churches and KFC so look out to those 2 companies. The employees were very friendly and helpful.
Remember when Church's fried chicken was actually still good and served huge pieces of chicken? Well that has been gone for years now, BUT take heart... Che's is alive and well and serving some of largest, tastiest fried chicken in the city! Also a special shout out to their onion rings-The best I've had. This place is no nonsense just good chicken and more at a good prices. They are all take out with a walk up window, just like I remember way back. The staff is cheerful, friendly and helpful. Everything is made to order but did not take long at all. I will definitely be back and will be trying the other menu items besides chicken. An asset to the south side. Give them a try, you won't regret it.
All I have to say is this place is awesome the food is hot and fresh down to the vegetables that are on the burgers. I wish they were open on the weekends. Glad my friend found this place while playing golf near there. Sorry the pictures were not great but I had to dig into that great food.

Food was yummy. Great portions and the chicken had a lot of meat. Wonderful service. Fantastic price. You won’t get s better fried chicken meal for the price.
Best fried chicken in the city, yes better than Gus's. They have a vast menu of golden fried foods which include fish, gizzard, tenders, and ofcourse there chicken. Mind blowing, only 2 downsides. Monday through Friday only, and take-out only.... But worth it, go out of your way to Che's.
As usual, whenever I find myself in a new part of town at lunchtime, I do a Google search and see what matches up with recommendations on here. We got a winner! 🏆 It's key is It's simplicity... freshly made when you order, everything come out piping H🔥T! The beading is a bit standard, but it is really delicious and very crunchy! What really blows you away is how juicy and flavorful the chicken is..marinated? 🤔 I had to try one fish patty, and I'm glad I satisfied my curiosity. My eagerness got the best of me and in a hurry I spread the tartar sauce on the slice of white bread it came with and bit in...burning my tongue! I deserved it. I'll definitely look forward to eating here again. Only downside is no dining area. 🤷♂️ Worked out fine though as I had to be on a conference call. Try it for yourself! 🔥👍
Delicious food, Great Service & Great prices! I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a teenager. Now, I come with a family of my own. I definitely recommend the Lemon Pepper Chicken Gizzards with Gravy, Fried Chicken, Jalapeño Poppers & Burgers! Plus they sell Cajun Chef Hot Sauce (since we can't find it at our local grocery stores anymore.) Overall great place.
Thanks to the woman taking my order for being patient with me. First time there and I was rattling off items while looking at the menu. The chicken was flavorful and crispy. The cheeseburger was simple, but hit the spot. Get the fried okra. Fast service.

My wife and I are in Beautiful San Antonio for Valentine's. With all the amazing food choices here, I still was craving chicken for lunch. After reading many reviews of places, we chose Che's. And it did not disappoint. The chicken was not greasy but delicious and crispy. The fries were good, BUT, the gizzards and corn fritters were absolutely the best. A must try if you like gizzards, the coating is something I have never tasted before. And the prices are extremely reasonable. We had a ton of food and drinks for less than $20. Too bad we only have 3 days here, we probably have to come again.

Y'all...fried chicken so good it'll make you go home and slap ya mama. And I did. Then she slapped me back for not bringing her Che's fried chicken sooner.* And she's from Bama so SHE KNOWS GOOD FRIED CHICKEN.
So juicy and tender with crispy skin. Basically what Church's Chicken WISHES it could be but they don't put the heart and soul into it like Che's does.
This is the essence of a neighborhood mom & pop old school takeaway slow food. You can tell that the people that with here are like a family and you can taste it in the food. Rock on.
