The day I ate dinner here the weather was bad but this place is good. On a nice day this would be a great place to eat, hang out for awhile and drink some good beers.
It’s counter ordering which I like and they bring your food to you when it’s ready. I got the burnt end melt which I think is what Guy got when he visited for DDD. I also got the house pickles and a beer. I wish I would’ve got one more small item to eat because I was hungry and the food was delicious.
I also liked the fact that it was not in the middle of downtown so it wasn’t super busy. That could have also been due to the weather.

I grew up in Kansas City, worked at a barbecue restaurant all through high school, married into a Texas family filled with competitive barbecuers, and go out of my way to find good 'cue.
Dignowity Meats is one of the best I have ever had. I live 3 hours away, but if I'm San Antonio and want barbecue, it's Dignowity.
I've never had a bad meal, but either of their burnt end sandwiches are absolutely amazing. If you don't want to clog your arteries, their turkey caprese sandwich is also a great choice.

This was my first time here and I enjoyed my meal. I had the burnt ends melt, which was full of cheesy goodness, delicious meat, and the bread was soft with a perfect crispy crust. They offer traditional deli sandwiches as well. I'll come another time to get the turkey caprese.
The Mac and cheese was good. Nice roux and flavor. Wouldn't have minded more cheese in the mix, but just nitpicking.
Overall it's a place you should definitely try.

So I'm out on a business trip and of course, looking for a Guy Fieri Triple D recommendations and up pops Dignowity Meats. We took a Lift to the restaurant and settled on a KC Burnt Ends Brisket sandwich. We had everything on it which requires two things...you like everything and plenty of napkins. Needless to say, Guy did us right. We also had the cheesy cheddar Mac which was exactly all that. The service was good but not outstanding but the food made up for it. Would I go back you ask? You bet!

I missed eating a well-done sandwich, I recommend it and I'll be back soon to try another sandwich on the menu

On this recent visit I had the smoked pastrami sandwich. It is easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Simple yet delicious. The pastrami had excellent flavor and texture. The Swiss cheese was nice and melted, the mustard was great and the toasted rye bread topped it off.

Amazing food! Service is friendly and quick. The brisket is the best I ever had! This is the real deal. Very much recommended

Had the Pastrami sandwich with a side of sharp cheddar mac and it was amazing! It took a little while to get my food but it was a bit busy. I noticed they were running out of items fast so it's best to get there prior to noon.

You can go to the Northside, or one of the more affluent sides of town, where some of the more trendy eateries make their home. And sure, the food is decent/safe, if that's all it takes to satisfy your palate. Or, you can shrug off any misconceptions you have about the east side of town and experience one of San Antonio's hidden gems. Dignowity meats is a humble little eatery that if you weren't looking for it, you'd drive right past it. Although you would be making a mistake by doing so. A friendly outdoor spot, with great beers on tap, and exceptional food coming out of the kitchen. If you're looking for a down-to-earth spot that is inviting, appetizing, as well as a chill spot to kick back and relax, then look no further. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are from out of town and were looking for a good authentic Texas bbq joint to try for lunch. After doing some google searches and reviews we came across this place and thought we’d give it a try. I ordered the burnt end melt, my wife had the pit beef sandwich. My burnt end sandwich was really good…I was impressed. My wife enjoyed hers as well. I had a bite of hers and it tasted ok to me but not quite as good as my own. My wife wanted some extra horseradish mayo to put on hers or to dip hers in. I went to the counter and asked the lady for a side of horseradish mayo and she quite rudely told me no. She said that it could only be put on a sandwich. I in turn said I can’t just get a little side container of it? And she told me no. I thought that was weird and a bit rude. How hard is it to put a little in a little Mac n cheese cup or some sort of container or plate? Oh well all and all a decent lunch experience.
