Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it. Our first time we tried the samosas, Horn of Africa plate, and the chicken and rice. Best rice I have ever had in my life! We can't wait to go back!
Always delicious! I would highly recommend this place! When you are there try the tea! It is so good!!
Kind of a hole in the wall place next to an industrial area near the airport. Samusas were delicious. The Kati Kati was excellent. It’s an African bread cooked in a soup with vegetables and meat. Friendly service and the food was cooked fresh and served hot. Perfect stop if your on the way to the airport and need a quick, delicious meal.
We came later in the day and they were out of a bunch of stuff, but the samosas and rice dishes were good, although my wife had lots of whole... (what were those? Allspice berries?) in her rice that were rather overpowering. Other than that, we both thought the rice was flavored very nicely. The included salad was about as minimalistic as it could be. Portions were large but not unreasonable. Staff was courteous. We were the only people who ate on premise - the 2 or 3 other orders that came in while we were there all had their food to go. I was a little disappointed that even though they asked and we ordered "for here" (as opposed to "to go"), they still gave us our food in Styrofoam boxes and gave us a plastic water bottle. Everything was 1 use plastic/foam; nothing is washed and reused. If I come here again, I'll have to remember to bring my own container and ask if they can use that instead.
Best African food you can eat in Utah! Super delicious and halal. Also, very clean service and restaurant. Definitely must try you will love it!
Omg the food is amazing. Rice was fresh and flavorful. The chicken is well seasoned a little over done but delicious. Fries 🍟 are the best in Utah. I dare u to prove me wrong.
Great authentic food.i got the chicken Kati kati so flavorful and the steak sandwich 🥪 amazing food.hidden gem💎
Great people. Great food. 10/10 Recommend.
This was our first time eating here and all in all, we really enjoyed our food! We ordered sambusa, the cabbage soup, and another dish shown in the picture, don’t know what it’s called.. but I had asked for fufu and egusi soup.. I don’t think that’s what it was but it was good! It was a little on the saltier side but I don’t eat a lot of salt on a regular basis so I’m a little more sensitive to it.. I still loved the flavors though! We will definitely be going back.
Overall, I cannot recommend the Horn of Africa Restaurant enough. It is a hidden gem that deserves recognition for its exceptional food, warm atmosphere, and top-notch service. Whether you're looking for a unique dining experience or simply want to indulge in flavors from the Horn of Africa, this restaurant is a must-visit.
Tasty, but not as good as Somali Restaurant (Nutrition & Ethnic foods.), Midnimo, or Noor. Better than Global Place.
They were out of almost everything I tried to order, possibly due to supply chain issues, though this does not seem to plague the other African restaurants in town.
The green sauce is the second spiciest in town. The lamb was tender but not as tender as Midnimo or Noor. Rice was flavorful but had too many whole black peppercorns for my taste.
Parking can be difficult on Sundays as they share their lot with a church.
Very good food! I had goat and rice, sambusa and the coffee. Very sweet family owned place. Really good prices too
