The best new authentic Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City.... hands down! We have known the owner Maria for many many years and can't say enough good things about this place! Incredible menu, quality ingredients and most importantly authentic Mexican flavor! Home-made chips and salsa are delicious and you can't stop eating them. We ordered a medium combination which included a cheese enchilada, chili verde smothered burrito, tostada and a beef taco. Everything was served piping hot, delicious and portions were large which allowed us to take some home for lunch the next day. So happy to see this place open on the east side... Highly recommended!! We will definitely be back!! 5 stars!

A quaint place with a fun and energetic atmosphere. Along with a large enough menu that's sure to have something for everyone. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. While I found the traditional side of rice and beans to be a little bland with my meal. The rest of the food was great. If you're out this way stop in sometime for a good meal. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I decided to try a new place, Maria's Mexican Grill. We got there at 8:30 on a Saturday night and we got right in. They weren't packed, but there were a lot of people there even that late.
The atmosphere was a more authentic than the traditional Mexican restaurant. They had little geckos on the wall and this huge circular thing on the wall. It reminded me of being back in Mexico. Definitely really cool decor.
Once we got seated, someone brought us out a bunch of chips and salsa. One of the better salsas we've had, really chunky and the chips were dusted with chilli powder. That was a nice touch.
I ordered the small platter with a smothered chile verde burrito, cheese enchilada and ground beef taco ($13.99). My wife wanted rice and beans, so she got the large platter ($15.99). Same as small, but with an additional tostada and rice and beans. Lol she definitely couldn't eat it all.
They had our food out really fast. Their tortilla shells are obviously hand made, little thicker than average tortilla shells. We really liked the chili verde. I wished the taco meat was seasoned a little more, but we're still pretty good. Overall, we like the food.
The service, what can I say except it was exceptionally. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were taking care of. I'm not sure I have seen a restaurant with that many employees. They were definitely on it, taking care of everyone.
Definitely a place we'll be going back to. Good food, great atmosphere and exceptional service.
We have been to Marias many times and the food and service are always great!
Very true and authentic Mexican food. If you are hungry get the molcajete it’s large enough for two hungry people.

Great place to eat. Food was fresh and had food balance of flavor. Not overpowering. Mango and crab enchiladas. To finish we had flan. A great big thick piece. It's the best down I've ever had. And I've mixed in Spain for years. Get the flan, at least once. Great service, friendly. And they have a frequent dinner card. Nice.
Got the quesabirria tacos for a quick lunch. They were delicious and came out FAST. They had all three kinds of aguas frescas available. Nice navidad decorations. They went all out on that.
Delightful surprise in Mexican cuisine! The portions were large, taste was on point, and atmosphere is fun. Mole sauce was diverse and delicious. Vegetarian options were plentiful, including the beans and rice. Pina Colada was fresh and delicious. Our server was not the friendliest and made us feel a little rushed, also did not correct an ordering mistake, however could be summed up to a cultural difference and was not enough to prevent us from returning. All in all food was delicious and we will be trying the south Jordan location soon.
We went to Maria's on a Friday night. It was about a 15 minute wait for 4 at around 6:30. We ordered 4 different dishes and a few drinks. It was really good! I wouldn't say it was spectacular, but it was good and hit the spot.
My favorite was the strawberry margarita. The sour rim was so yummy. I also appreciated that the fajitas came as asked with no dairy, as I have allergies. It was pretty burnt on the bottom, but it was still good.
My company also enjoyed their food! They said they go there all the time with their family. We would go back and would recommend it for a solid Mexican dinner.
I had a great experience at Maria's! The restaurant is large and can easily seat a large group and still has a great atmosphere. You get chips and salsa as you are seated. Both delicious. The menu has a ton of options. All Mexican food. I had the 3 street tacos. They were amazing. Perfectly done, side of guacamole and Pico to add to the tacos. I tried the white mole, it was amazing! Also tried the tamales that were perfect as well. I will be back for sure.
Service was 3 star. Nothing special for the most part but fine. Everything else was 5 star.

Tried out a Mexican restaurant in South Jordan after looking at homes with clients in Daybreak and it was delish!!
Maria’s Mexican Grill features a wide range of 100% Mexican dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and they offer breakfast all day, salads, ceviche, seafood chef specialties, house specialty entrees, and churros and other desserts.
I’m not a seafood person so I tried a nightly special of enchiladas stuffed with creamy chicken and smothered in a homemade strawberry 🍓 mole sauce with Monterrey Jack cheese! So good and something I had never had before! The hint of sweet strawberry among the smoky-spices of mole was a palette pleaser!
Smothered saucy food doesn’t always look so appetizing but the garnishes of fresh berries, an fresh orchid and a bit of shredded bright green romaine lettuce increased the presentation with bright pops of color—and I love all the colors of the rainbow on my plate!
Served with the usual but unusually delicious beans and rice, and of course chips and salsa to start the meal.
Highly recommend Maria’s Mexican Grill, as do many others judging by the crowds, and the staff efficiently seated and served everyone in a timely manner.
Check out their location in South Jordan or Salt Lake City-Millcreek area, they also host parties and events. You won’t be disappointed!
