Got taken out for my birthday tonight and let me just say this place was absolutely amazing. Everything from the food, the drinks, and the service were all phenomenal. I lived in the south and the grits tapas was the best I’ve ever had. Funeral potatoes were on point and the gnocchi was to die for. The fried green tomatoes were good, however, way too much sauce and that took away from the tomatoes themselves...but still a good dish. I was very impressed and will be back again.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Great service! I don't drink, but I'm a mocktail enthusiast. I didn't see any on the menu, so I asked the server. He asked about my preferences, and then they whipped something up just for me! I really appreciated it. On top of that, the food was great. My husband had the braised pork shank, and it was delicious, especially with the accompanying veggies (the sweet potatoes in particular!). I had the short rib, and it was beautifully tender. And I don't know what was in that gravy, but it was amazing. We also shared the fried pickled okra, and really enjoyed that. And last but not least, the ginger berry pie. Two thumbs up. I can definitely recommend this place!
We got the pigs in a blanket and they were amazing, the sauce was delicious as well. Also got the fried green tomatoes and they were delicious!! For our main course we got the shrimp and grits and then the seasonal hash and everything was seasoned well, had amazing flavor and was just so good! The coffee is even good here! You have to try it!
This was my first time dining at Tradition and it was a recommendation. I was pleased with the overall service actually! The atmosphere were just right with the outside temperatures for dining on the patio. The food was exquisite and I thoroughly enjoyed! I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking something unique.
We have been meaning to come here and finally got a chance with a friend visiting. We walked in with very casual attire from the park. My other half got the short rib and said it was one of the best servings of short rib he ever had. While I am not sure everyone felt the same, we really enjoyed our meal and drinks here and would definitely return for the short rib.
I ate alone, made a reservation ahead of time and was sat when I arrived. The drink of the day was excellent. The recommendations on food was perfect based on what flavors I said I liked. They have a very friendly cat in the area but he was kind and courteous.
App: chicken croquettes
Meal: meatloaf
Drinks: kittos blackberry (draft) & pineapple mezcal margarita
Wowzers!! This place is a gem. The name is Tradition however it seems each “traditional” dish has the chef’s own little twist which is absolutely wonderful. Check out the menu and you’ll see what I mean. Don’t fret if you’re not an adventurous diner, nothing will be so outlandish that you won’t appreciate the meal. They’re not trying to reinvent a dish, just tweaking traditional favorites by enhancing the ingredients.
Oh my goodness!! We went last night. The short ribs were so tender, fell apart with my fork, and the red wine gravy and mashed potatoes were amazing!! The lemonade was great, not too sweet!! We sat outside and enjoyed it!!
My boyfriend and I love coming here, the atmosphere is always warm and the staff is amazing and super friendly (we love Rose!). Unfortunately though tonight when we went, they changed their super amazing chicken dumpling recipe and it’s just not the same. Please change it back!! I used to DREAM of this dish and tonight I had to send it back it just was not good. Don’t change what you don’t need to! Everything else though, awesome. Would recommend to any local or tourist.
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. A friend and I came after work without a reservation and they kindly found us a seat. We came for the pie, but every dish we ordered impressed and the wait staff were friendly and warm. Favorite dishes include the funeral potatoes and fried green tomato sides - both excellent. The pie was dangerously good. This particular evening it was a chocolate pie, but not just a "chocolate pie", more like a slab of the inside of the best chocolate truffle you could imagine. This restaurant is on my very short list in Salt Lake City. I'll definitely be back!
Delicious. Good service and good variety on the menu. The maple cake we had for desert was particularly great (1 slice fed three of us) and I also enjoyed the brussel sprout and cauliflower appetizer. My entree (chicken and dumplings) was good but a bit dry — could have used more sauce. My friend’s Cumin Risotto was a bit bland. We brought our own wine and paid the corkage fee.
One of our go-to restaurants in SLC. Everything we've had is great and we love taking people here for their first time because they always love it. I've had most of their regular menu items (both dinner and brunch) as well as cocktails and haven't been disappointed thus far. Can't go wrong with the funeral potatoes or the biscuits and gravy (though I'm sad they no longer have Beltex sausage in their gravy which made it *perfection*). Service is always great and I love the decor. So glad the weather is warming up so we can brunch on the patio again!
