This is more like a Vietnamese restaurant than a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant was easy to find. The restaurant was clean with limited decor. The place wasn't busy. The food was delicious. Staff were aloof. There were a lot of take out order.
Told the owner or host that it was my first time here. I think I got a bigger portion than expected but it's deeply appreciated. Bigger portions means more love right?! The incense being burnt may not be business friendly. The outlet in the dining room area doesn't work. Tried to do work but couldn't. Didn't visit the bathroom but the hospitality was great. Very chill and small area tucked away in the plaza. The parking lot is large but is a very popular plaza off the highway. There are some reserved spots for the restaurant. The prices are expensive but you get larger portions (hopefully every time). They don't have water just bottled water which you'll have to pay additionally for. I saw real Vietnamese dishes and was proud to see it being available. Can't wait to test it out the next time.
Ordered pho to go and it was ready in 5 mins! It was very good. I like how the noodles and broth were packed separately so the noodles don't get soggy. They include all the toppings too so you can make it how you want. Definitely order off the Vietnamese menu!
Spicy beef soup is my favorite. Very yummy
We like the husband and wife that is the owners of China wok but they really need a cook that knows what there doing by cooking the food well-done like customers want it not half raw where customers that don.t have any teeth can't chew hard raw food cause it hurts the roof of there mouth. Of there gums
I was driving down into the city to get Vietnamese food from Truc Lam... they have excellent food. The pho at China Wok is just as good. The spring rolls are excellent. Truc Lam has plum sauce with their spring rolls.... the peanut sauce with the spring rolls here is really good. I say.... thumbs up to China wok.
This restaurant is located on the busy Telegraph Road in SoCo. The restaurants owner was pretty friendly, and his father (I guess) is a nice gentleman who smiled genuinely when he brought the food to our table.
We opted to not order the overrated Pho at this Vietnamese restaurant. Instead, we ordered Bun bo (spicy beef noodles), a famous dish originally from Central Vietnam. We were not sure how it would turn out, as we were disappointed many times at other restaurants in town.
To be frank, it was not the best Bun that we have had. However, it arguably was cooked better than any other restaurant in the St. Louis area. The dish had all ingredients that we are used to eating and cooking. The spiciness is just right for people who know how to eat this famous dish. Expect to sweat a bit from eating the spicy bun.
If you are not ethnic Vietnamese, you can ask the cook not to include items such as pig feet, etc. I just put these items aside.
I really enjoyed my experience here and would come back next time when I am in the area.
I get the pho and order of spring rolls here very often. Great food every time. I highly recommend if you are searching for decent pho in the oakville area!
