Taste

We were craving a cocktail on our last evening in St. Louis and stumbled upon Taste. We were able to make same day reservations which was really nice. As for the restaurant itself, it has a great ambiance, very romantic for a date night. The cocktails were amazing and the food was not far behind. We weren’t very hungry so only enjoyed the tomato salad and the mussels, but honestly we wanted to try it all. We got the olive oil cake for dessert and it was perfection. Service was also great. Can’t say enough good things about Taste. We hope to be back next time we’re in St. Louis!

All the drinks were excellent. I like the option of a bartender's choice drink since you can have something unexpected. The olive oil cake was delicious. When they served my date's entree, they let us know that mine wasn't ready yet so they gave us a free appetizer. I didn't complain, they immediately just let me pick an item for them to comp. Will definitely be returning!

Our party had 3 people, and we arrived early on a Thursday evening, so there was no wait for a table. The cocktail menu was interesting and extensive, with both classic and custom drinks. The food was all very good. We had a variety of snacks and small plates, so I can't rate the large plate items. Two snack items stood out as outstanding: the bacon fat carrots and the tempura mushrooms. Two small plate items also stood out: the gnocchi and the brussels sprouts. The service was excellent. All in all, a very positive experience.

Extraordinary drink menu! We tried several of the "homemade" cocktails & loved each and every one. The snack plates are shareable although could of had a bit more flavor to them. Customer service was excellent, hell we stayed past closing hours enjoying the drinks! Love the bathrooms(dont get to say that to many times at restaurants)

This place is incredible in every way possible! The atmosphere is very classy, with low lighting and candles all throughout; it's great for a date or for celebrating an occasion with a small group. It's a cocktail bar, but the food is beyond excellent. They have a pretty short menu of mostly small plates, all of which I've tried. The dishes are unique and elevated with lots of complex flavors. Everything is skillfully prepared and plated beautifully; not a single dish is short of great. It's no surprise that the drink menu is very extensive. I stuck to traditional cocktails, which they do well, but there's a long list of their own creations as well. Servers are very kind and knowledgeable. Overall, Taste is one of the better places I've dined in St. Louis!

This place hooked us! Went here with my brothers for a bachelor's dinner, and they delivered! Food: the devils in the detail here.... Quality food. Every bite was a symphony to the taste buds! From the Brussel Sprouts, to the brownie, everything we ordered had an amazing subtle flavor hiding behind the main initial taste. The bruschetta was a little different.... A darkened, almost burnt taste in the outside crust, but with incredible flavor in the topping. Service: Michael was a fantastic wait or, very knowledgeable about every detail of the menu we asked about plus some. I couldn't decide on a drink, so he asked a few questions about what I was feeling like and then said, "I'll bring you something" - what he came back with was perfection! He even played a song we requested through the system! There wasn't a drink or food choice I wouldn't go back for. (except maybe the octopus which just tasted like chicken. :p) Definitely a place I'm coming back to...

Great cocktail bar with many drinks calling for our return. If you don't know what you like or dislike, this may give you decision-anxiety. The staff seem willing enough to help you through questions though so maybe it wouldnt be so bad for some. The drinks we ordered were a great blend of components I can't imagine the others to be bad unless you dislike a specific ingredient. We ordered small plates (Caesar salad and chicken wings) as well to go with the drinks. The wings are HOT so keep that in mind. Very delicious though. The Caesar is...a Caesar. Nice surprise to have the croutons actually be breaded chicken.

Very romantic! Went here on a date and it was wonderful. The staff were all very intuitive and brought fresh bread to dip in our mussel sauce before we had polished off the previous round so it would be hot and delicious.. how thoughtful! Also ordered the small plate flat iron steak that came with a perfect amount of sear on the edge! We ordered a round of drinks and then switched to their bowl-sized beverage option which was a fun novelty to try :) Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
