Strange Donuts

Strange Donuts is a wonderful donut shop! I have been going there for years since they first opened and they have only gotten better over the years! They are a fun, caring place and I love their dones! Especially their Stranger, like the one in the picture, that involves a collaboration with other local restaurants! These guys are amazing! Definitely go here!

The kids working the counter was super nice and helpful. The donuts were great, particularly the glazed one. The cake donuts were just a little bit on the dry side but I'm willing to attribute that to us arriving later in the morning. The gooey butter cake donuts were a standout for me. Get a coffee to go with it. They are very sweet.

Overall good experience. Very friendly staff and a nice location. The interesting thing about this place is that every month they change up their flavors. There are a couple that stay regardless of the month (i.e. long johns and rainbow sprinkles), but the others disappear after a month. This can be a great way to change up the flavors and get to try something new! However, it can also somewhat disheartening when you find one you love.

Conceptually, this place is very unique and trendy. They have some really interesting and often superb flavor combinations. Their raised donuts have a very good texture, with excellent balance between firmness and softness. The cake donuts have a decent texture: the chocolate ones tend to have a little moisture, while the vanilla ones which they build many of their creations/strangers on top of tend to be really dry and flavorless. They allow the excellence of the toppings to dominate, but I'd like to see them put a little more effort into the heart of the donut, which is the DOUGH! Despite this critique, I've had enough excellent donuts here to give them a well-deserved 4 stars!
