Today my wife and i had a hankering for some BBQ and we always like to give new places a shot. We stumbled upon The Stellar Hog on google and headed down to the city. It’s located at the corner of Bates and Leona in the old Bungalow space. The owner Pam and her son, pitmaster Alex were very inviting and told us about the space and how they came upon it etc. I ordered the corned beef brisket and the ribs and the wife had a pulled pork Sandwich. The corned beef brisket is some of the best I have ever tasted and the ribs were fantastic. Pam brought out a few sides for us to try as well and my wife really enjoyed the cabbage based side. Also she brought this rib jam which was really great on the ribs. Overall I highly recommend The Stellar Hog and would definitely go back.
We took a stab in the dark on this place while traveling through St Louis yesterday. Kind of off the beaten path and we almost turned around because it didn’t seem like there could be a great bbq place in the middle of a neighborhood. Happy we pressed forward because all 5 of us were very pleased! I had the ribs and they were delicious :)
My brother had the corned beef and said it was so tender and the best he had ever eaten. My sister had the pulled pork and my nephew had the brisket. He also said it was the best brisket he’s ever eaten. Fast and friendly service as well. So definitely 5*’s for The Stellar Hog!

I googled a good BBQ place and the hog popped up. Let's just say I'm in love with this place. I had the beef ribs that I couldn't finish, brussel sprouts, smoked salami sandwich and fries. Also had a chocolate milk stout that was delicious 🤤. If you are looking for a good BBQ with a nice surrounding please try them out. You will not be disappointed. Anybody who didn't give them 5 stars are haters. David came out and talked to us, the bartender Corey was awesome. The only place I will get BBQ in st. Louis hands down
Solid place to get some good que. The staff is super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. I had the pulled pork sammich with Mac and cheese and my buddy had the white wall. The pulled pork is decent and the sauce was good too. The Mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. My buddy said the sauce on his was really good but the back half of his brisket was nothing but fat. We tried a couple beers that were good too.
We were on a long road trip back to Texas and in search for a good local spot. Well, this was a great find! First off, we had two tired pups who needed a change of scenery and they were super dog friendly. The patio was quiet due to rain so we enjoyed a delicious, quiet dinner. We chose a sampling of corned beef, brisket, and turkey and they were all amazing! Brussels sprouts, root veggies, coleslaw and beans were all so good and the two bbq sauces were a great compliment to the meal. We would def recommend trying this place out and bringing your pup with you! 🐶🦴
Good portion sizes. The pulled pork fries were good, but a little salty. The White Wall was off the chain and the turkey and brisket were delicious. We will be back.
It is a down to earth bar/restaurant. It is in a house converted to a resteraunt. I thought I was lost, but yes It is in the middle of a neighborhood.
The bartender greeted me when I walked in, gave me a menu, took my order.
I got the brisket and pulled pork. I highly recommend it, the staff and food were were really good.
We stopped here for St. Louis burger week 2023, and though it was a bit out of the way, we’re glad we did. The Dark Star burger was incredible, as were the corned beef sandwich, the Brussels sprouts and the pit beans (cooked withe the brisket). Super friendly staff and cool cosmic decor. Definitely coming back soon and often!
Party of 4 stopped here late on a Wednesday night. Atmosphere inside was okay, a cosmic theme, and they also have a large patio area. The food was pretty good. Our appetizer of pulled pork cheesy fries was delicious. I ordered 1lb of brisket + a full slab of ribs. We also tried the pulled pork. No chicken on the menu which was different. The brisket was sliced thick and flavorful. The ribs were extremely good, no bbq sauce needed! Half slab ribs is $19.99 or full slab for $29.99. Our total bill for 4 people was $185 before tip. A little pricey in my opinion considering we mostly opted out of sides to save $.
Drove 13 hours from Baltimore headed to Colorado. Googled this place. Got the ribs , pit beans, and slaw. OMFG! So good I almost cried! What a gem! The sever Sara is a rock star to boot! You will not be disappointed.
Love this place. We went on Sunday for beef ribs, but they were sold out. Bought the beef brisket instead. It looked so dry. Looks are deceiving. It melted in your mouth. The veggies are the best I've had since I've been in this state. Please give this place a try
Excellent BBQ, ribs were extraordinary and the brisket juicy, which has been rare on our Midwest trip. The place and the owner are friendly and a hockey fan. Nice outdoor seating and dog friendly!
