Black Bear Diner

Our first experience there. In a word.....PERFECT.....Everything about this diner was excellent. The food,the scenery,the atmosphere and the staff. I enjoyed reading the history of the diner on the menu which looks like newspaper. Just a quaint country side diner and you don't want to drive by and not stop.

This place was on my waiting list and today I went there. The food is amazing. I went for dinner so I ordered their burgers and both of them were excellent and delicious. Looking forward to go to the brunch soon !! I would also recommend this place to my friends and family. Also Deonte took care of our table really good. Great food great service 👍

Black Bear Diner in St. Charles, Missouri is a pleasant restaurant with a unique log cabin mountain atmosphere. The theme of a black bear is presented throughout the establishment from designs on the outside of the building all the way down to the interior of the restrooms. I'm one who find the theme enjoyable and whimsical. I would certainly give it a four-star rating based just on that. But once you factor in the flavor and portion size of the food my rating soars far above five-stars. The flavor of the hamburgers is truly that of a steak. Many establishments advertise 'steak burgers' however Black Bear Diner in St. Charles fulfills this promise far and above anywhere else. We'll be back - soon!

This is my first experience at this restaurant. The restaurant has a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The food looks good and tastes fine. I was disappointed because I ordered a steak and was brought the equivalent of a hamburger. I also ordered a side of bacon (4pc) and was brought 1 slice. When I said something to the waitor he proceeded to tell me the cost per slice. I had to show him the menu to get what I originally requested. I requested scrambled eggs with American cheese, my eggs did not have cheese. I did let him know that the meal was not what I ordered, just to be sure I was not charged for a steak meal when I actually got a burger meal. I do appreciate management coming over asking to take the plate, but I do not send my food back under any circumstance. Had this been the meal I ordered, I definitely would have given 4 or 5 stars at least.

I’m so glad I decided to try this place out! I went around 10AM on a Sunday, and the parking lot was pretty full. I was worried the service would be slow, but it wasn’t! I got seated right away and had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. It was my first time trying Eggs Benedict, and it was super good! I’ll try the California Bacon version next time. 😋

Happened upon this place tonight by accident, and were we glad we did. They had quite a large menu, with alot of Yummy options to choose from!! We could not decide. Our waitress, Alex, was phenomenal...she was so helpful! She gave us so many recommendations, as to what her favorites were, as well as what are customer favorites. After talking to her, she narrowed us down to our decision pretty quick. I decided to go with the pot roast. I started out with tomato bisque soup, which came with my meal, along with a baked potato and onion rings. It was so good, and plenty left for lunch tomorrow, because their portions are huge. My fiancée had the meatloaf. He loved it. I 100% detest green peppers, and there were very tiny little slivers in there that I didn't know were in there, but I tasted it as soon as I tried a bite, so I wasn't a fan...but he couldn't even tell they were in there and thought in was imagining things, till he saw a small piece. He also had onion rings and green beans. The onion rings are the good ones...the real big ones, that are more like beer battere. The green beans are the ones with onion and bacon in them. The food and the service was great. We signed up to their rewards program, which is free, because we will definitely be going back!

I found this place in my travels and decided to give it a whirl. Service was fast and friendly. Coffee was fresh as I opted for breakfast. I ordered the "California Bacon" the avocados and tomatoes on there were decently tasting, everything cooked to order just right, hashbrowns slightly crisp, very good place, they serve dinner & supper too, breakfast is 2 thumbs up, if your around give them a shot.
