Despite the stuffy building and lack of proper AC, it's hands down the best Mexican food in SoSac, if not the county. And their red sauce is to top notch; can't think of any other sauce that simultaneously spicy and flavorful. Strong recommendation, but bring cash.

The restaurant is located behind the Chevron gas station in a very rundown shack. Don't be discouraged if there seemed to be no one in the restaurant. I went into an empty restaurant, but 10+ people started to arrive after I ordered my food. It seemed I was the only person who didn't speak Spanish ordering food. Recommended dish were pork tamales (4.5/5) and and caldo de res (4.0/5 ... I had better). About 50% of people came after me only ordered caldo de res. The soup seemed blank and a bit too sweet initially. However, after dumping chopped onion and cilantro and squeezed some lemon into the soup, and the flavors began to come out, and it was very good. The pork tamale was one of the best tamales I've ever had. Tacos and elote were standard.

A friend raved about this place their tacos casadies & tomalies.. I stopped in and had one of each. All outstanding quality and prices. Also had an Horchata. I will be back

If you look at the front of this place and think "this looks like a great place to get excellent Mexican food at a good price" then you'd be correct. It's mostly street fare - tacos, burritos, gorditas, and apparently excellent tamales (according to my wife) - that you'd expect to find in a roadside stand. All-in-all, it's not much to look at, but well worth a quick detour if you're headed up 99

This place is fire! The food is fire! If it doesn't have a/c and looks secretive like this, the food is good! There's not a lot of seating so taking it to go is good. Also a great place to take your date!

Cavaza tacos are why I hit up this place. The place is not much to look at but the neighborhood seems to love it . Tomales are good chicken & green chilli.
