I ordered the daily special berry and banana french toast with eggs and bacon: under $8! My son and husband ordered from the regular menu and they had a huge breakfast! All in all our experience was good. Fast service and a good amount of refills. Will go again. I hadn't been there since I was a little girl
We love going to eat at pancake circus. I have been eating there since 1986 and something's have changed but the place absent changed. Love the food and the service.
That’s my first time dining here, and I have to give them five stars all the way around there was no waiting to get to the table and literally our food was brought to us within 10 minutes of ordering. It was hot. It was fresh and it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a good place to eat, serves their customers in a timely fashion with both service and food. Then come here definitely try it out. We will be back.
Pancake Circus should be considered a historical landmark. It is an iconic and cozy diner. Yes, there is a 1970s clown decor but that is the appeal. You come here for a feeling, the Sacramento before it was “hip” and the “Farm to Fork” Capitol. The food is diner food and a million times better than chain diner food. Service is great and friendly. If you want a quirky breakfast/brunch experience, this is your spot!
My favorite greasy spoon in Sacramento. Great atmosphere, kitschy decor, hot coffee. My favorite is the Country Benedict.

Initially, I would frequent Pancake Circus as an ironic choice, primarily to dodge the lengthy wait times down the street at Tower Cafe. However, with each visit, that irony gave way to a heartfelt love. The impeccable food, the welcoming staff, and the one-of-a-kind ambiance became undeniable.
And let's not overlook the decor – with each visit, the eclectic clown art becomes increasingly endearing. Without a doubt, Pancake Circus serves the best breakfast in Sacramento.

I was not impressed when I walked in since they have so much stuff & it was a definite turn off. I wanted to leave but I had just picked up my friend from the hospital and he needed to eat. Well I was pleasantly surprised. My bacon , egg, hashbrown, and toast was very good...hashbrowns had a nice crisp outside and soft inside and did NOT have a bunch of grease. My eggs cooked to perfection. I will be back since the place was clean, the bathroom also was nice and clean. The only suggestion I have is to get rid of all the junk when you walk in since it just looks cluttered and junky.

Staff was super friendly as well. I ended up misplacing my wallet and the whole team went above and beyond. I left my phone number at the restaurant and after I was able to track it down they still called to check the next day and make sure I had found it. Very caring and good natured people. My partner and I are excited to become regulars there!
A delightfully quirky greasy spoon with personable staff and tasty food. And not to mention, keno (if you're into that)! Corned beef hash and biscuits and country gravy hit the spot.
I lived in Sac for so many years and regrettably never visited this iconic breakfast spot...why!? Right off the freeway which makes it a great pit stop. We hope this place sticks around for many more years to come.
Loved this place. Wish the clowns weren't so angry or sad looking.
The bathroom was beat up. Everything was broke and dirty. Mirror was scratched to hell. I see yard sales and many places they could have gotten cheap bathroom decor. Upgrade the bathroom!

It is one of Sacramento's oldest family restaurants. There is plenty of parking, but check Google regarding hours. The pancakes are made with a special recipe. You'll want to come back after you've tried the pancakes. I like the establishment feel to "the Circus."
It's a nice quiet breakfast place with and awesome staff and a great manager. Food is always good every time we eat there.
